Giants defeat the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in Game Seven to win the World Series.
I agree, even though my favorite team (Houston) benefitted from it. Of course, that doesn’t mean I won’t watch when one or more wild card teams go to the World Series.
My local team The Royals couldn’t hit against Bumgarner. They should have done better before he came in and they could have won. Fans who payed stayed around to support the team. They were still Cheering. Royals tried to do something but it failed in the 9th. Butler and Shields are gone as they will be given super expensive contracts by other teams.
Nobody could hit against Madison Bumgarner.
Apparently, he plays that way because he has a rare disorder (I’m sorry I don’t recall the name) that causes a part of the spine to be totally inflexible. He didn’t even know about it himself until recently.
Nah. In the end of it to have gone the other way easily then Royals would have had to win one game against Madison. Which was unlikely. Losing Game 4 hurt. Bottomline,...Madison, Madison,Madison, Madison. had Royals had the lead when he came in there might have been a chance, but no way after he came in.
They are already saying that the 2015 Astros are going to be a much better team next year, largely because of all the prospects we got for Pence becoming ready for the majors. We’ll have to wait and see if that’s true, I suppose. But, personally, I really miss NL style ball. I’ve thought about going to some Rice games (though the Sugar Land Skeeters are much closer to where I live). I don’t suppose you could tell me if college ball uses the Designated Hitter?
Good post. And congratulations to your Giants. That was a great game tonight.
But he didn't.
I think he gets into the hitters heads because I did not see tonight anything fabulous. His fast ball is in the low 90’s, decent curve and change up. KC was just swinging at crap a Texas league player would pass up. He had them psyched out.
His mix of pitches and control was good. They were poor hitters, just compare tonight to last night.
Thank you Pelham....
You know, its just baseball. That ball chase in the bottom of the ninth with two outs and a runner coming into third and possibly home was a real tense moment, at least for a Giants fan. Heck, it could have easily gone into extra innings, or worse, the Giants lose.
imho, both teams were pretty evenly matched. Both teams had blow outs against each other. I mean, what if last night’s game happened tonight? For either side?
This game was exciting, full of drama and down to the wire. There are stories that will be written about all the players. One locker room is celebrating and another is like a morgue.
There are winners and there are losers. It’s a good lesson in life. To know that there are times when you win and times when you lose. Baseball, is just like life, we pick ourselves up after a loss and start a new season.
“imho, both teams were pretty evenly matched. “
That’s for sure. Wildcard teams have proven to be exciting in the World Series. This is only the second time both teams have been wildcard teams, the other year being 2002.
Mad Bum is on his way to being the greatest WS pitcher since Babe Ruth.
Bummd out by My team losing a little bit. But my other team Spurs started playing and they won last night. Then I have Chiefs and Cowboys in NFL. Follow Dallas became I am a fan of the show.
What an amazing performance.
And a well-deserved championship for the Giants. Bravo, boys.
Game 7 might have been a lot different if they did not have the designated hitter when playing WS games in an AL team's ballpark.
One of the best moments was in Game 6 when they interviewed some KC Royals fans who were there with their 7-day-old daughter. They had to leave Game 1 because the mother started to go into labor.
I hate the Giants fans who insist that “Kruk and Kipe” are the best announcers in the league.
It’s a sad commentary on the state of MLB when no other teams can beat the injury-ravaged, weak-hitting Giants. Boche is a great manager.
Grew up a Bosox fan in the 60’s and 70’s and became a Giant’s fan after moving to CA in ‘81. Until 2004 the teams I was passionate about had never won a World Series in my lifetime. Now, in the past 11 years, they’ve won 6 Championships. Guess it was worth 4 decades of suffering....
I hate the midgets.
The thing I hate worst about midgets is that they are too short to reach the counter and make me a sammich.
