Actress Marcia Strassman has died at the age of 66 after a long battle with breast cancer, according to online posts by two long-time friends, singer/actress Cher and director Bob Weide. She couldn’t stand the part either and complained loudly about it.
She didn’t like that her only line seemed to be ‘Oh Gabe.......’

Nurse Dish in MASH?
Oh, the blonde. The name, and I never watched Welcome Back, Stupid, didn't ring a bell whatsoever.

Nice pic of her...../sarc

RIP Marcia Strassman.
Her and Jan Smithers who played Bailey Quarters on the television series “WKRP in Cincinnati” were some of the most underrated beauties of the 70s. Imagine a day when we could chose our own stars.

From what I’ve heard not many cared for Gabe Kaplan.

She was also in the short-lived but wonderful TV series Tremors.

See, and this is important, if you grew up in the sixties and the seventies, people like Marcia Stassman occupied an important part of the life, and development of the average American male. I will add the names of Elizabeth Montgomery, Dawn Wells, Jan Smithers (Bailey Quarters on WKRP), and Yvonne Craig (Batgirl). Whether they were real or not is irrelevent.

Loni was mainstreamed as the star so she doesn’t fit into this conversation.

"She was *gorgeous*.She appeared quite often in earlier episodes of MASH.I was never a fan of Welcome Back Kotter."
Never thought she was all that much on Kotter, but then I saw her in the MASH re-runs, with much shorter hair than on Kotter. WOW! Why did she ever want to wear it long?!?!?

Very unfortunate. She had a lot of verve in many roles.
