There is one difference you must not overlook.
Mormons are not killing innocent non-Mormons at this time.
Muslims are still killing innocent non-Muslims on every continent.

I am not going to be bent into a pretzel over what happened centuries ago. I only worry about the present and the future.
So the list in your post is meaningless to me.

It is obvious Mormons are not following in the footsteps of their founder. But the Jihadist Muslims are. Islam allows 4 wives and that practice persists in the present day.

All religions had some strange rituals in the past.
The Hindu’s had tradition of “Sati”.
The Christian Killed a whole bunch of innocents during the crusades. But today, almost without exception none of the religions profess murder of innocents in the name of religion. Except the Jihadist Muslims.

Bountiful, BC & YFZ Ranch in Texas, aka ‘fundie’ mormonism.

Because a religion is presently non-violent, does not mean that its precepts are true, not all paths lead to Salvation! Obviously muhamedanism IS a cult, but so is mormonism. IF mormonism were true, perhaps doctrine would not have been changed 4,000+ TIMES! In North America, you are free to believe WHATEVER you like, even false teachings however, from the view of Eternity, I choose to believe a Book that has NEVER been changed, and is God breathed, the Bible.

We can thank God (the God of the Bible, that is) that most mormons AND muhamedans try to ‘work’ their way to Heaven through good deeds. Unfortunately, too many muhamedans fall for satan’s (aka allah’s) instructions to keep killing and maiming all non-muhamedans unless and until they ‘submit’.

You belong to a very fine religion. Keep up the good work.
I belong to Hindu religion which originated 4500+ years ago.
And I have no complaints about my religion as well. The
part I am most proud of my religion is that it is the most
tolerant of other religions. Hindu’s do not proslytize, yet
there are over a Billion people on earth who are Hindu’s.
The other major religion, Buddhism, originated from a Hindu
prince in ancient India. Several other smaller religions can
also trace their origins in India.

A billion Hindus are wrong, but you are free to practice your religion in this country, unlike parts of India.

About your claim that the Hindu religion "is the most tolerant of other religions". I beg to differ. I don't know if it is willful blindness or merely being unaware of facts. Are you familiar with Hindutva?

How about the 1999 murder of Graham Staines, an Australian missionary who, along with his 6 year old son, Timothy, and his 10 year old son, Philip, were burned to death in Mr. Staines' car in Orissa state? The murderers were 'fundie' Hindus. Yes, eventually the killers were caught, one being executed and 12 imprisoned.

In the first six months of 2000, there were 35 incidents where Christians were victimized. These acts included bombings, church arson, beating deaths, and assaults. Some Christian leaders pointed to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, but of course, the BJP, with roots in the RSS, blamed Pakistan.

During Christmas 2007, 10 were murdered, 90 churches were burned and 600 homes were destroyed in Orissa state.

On August 23, 2008, a hard-line Hindu swami was murdered in Orissa state. Hindu extremists went on a rampage against the minority Christians, burning homes and churches and raping women, including an nun. The death toll reached 25 and more than 600 churches were demolished and that 4,000 Christians had been forced to flee from their villages. During the next four months, about 70 people died and 50,000 were displaced into refugee camps.

During 2010, there were over 1,000 anti-Christian attacks reported in Karnataka state in southwest India.

The sources? www.religioustolerance.org and www.wikipedia.org, certainly NOT Christian websites! Your claim of the 'tolerance' of Hinduism fails.

Do Christians do bad things? YES! Paul wrote in Romans 3:23 that, "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
In Matthew 5:21-22, Jesus says, “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell."
In verses 27 & 28, Jesus states, " “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
In Matthew 5:38-48, Jesus says, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."

So, what Jesus says, in essence, is that we are to be PERFECT, yet we ARE NOT and CANNOT be perfect! Since God is Holy and cannot suffer the unholy in His presence, what is the solution? ONLY a PERFECT, SINLESS substitute will suffice. THAT is why Jesus died on the cross 2000 years ago, to be that perfect, substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. His death, a perfect, sinless sacrifice, suffices for the punishment for sin of those who choose to make Jesus their Lord and Saviour. NOTHING else CAN act as such a substitute for our sins. Unfortunately, if a person chooses NOT to believe and make Jesus the ruler of their life, eternity away from God is their 'wage'.

Remember, CHRIST is perfect, Christians are not! ALL are human and fail to meet God's holiness and need a Saviour. I urge you to pick up the Bible and have a read, especially the Book of John. If you ask, in all honesty and humility, for Jesus to reveal Himself to you, He will.

Jesus was a magnificent man. Like you said, he was perfect, but all Christians are not necessarily perfect. I appreciate your thoughts about Jesus.

As for religious tolerance, many Christian missionaries arrived in India and converted many people to Christianity. I am sure Christians in India number in tens of millions. Hindu’s on the other hand do not send missionaries to other countries.

Right now my life is magnificent. I have exceeded my own expectations! I have a wonderful family. One of my kids is studying law, the other will study medicine next fall. I am very happy spiritually, financially and physically. I do not see any need to change anything, including my religion. I am by no means a devout Hindu. Just that I am happy what my religion has allowed me to become.

I am from western India originally. The state of Orissa you mentioned is dominated by communists. Bad things happen there more than other states. All I can tell you is millions of Christians in India are living in harmony with Hindu’s. I used to have many Christian friends in India and all were very fine people.

Actually, entropy12, by definition, no Christian, nor anyone else for that matter, is perfect; ALL have failed to live up to what God requires, yet He loves us enough to send us a ‘get out of jail (hell) free’ card, that being Jesus’ death and resurrection at Calvary. Believing that Jesus IS who He says He is, and then allowing Him to run your life, through the Holy Spirit, pardons us from our sins. The difficult part is putting His will ahead of ours.

Jesus is God, as is the Holy Spirit, as is the Father; three persons in one Godhead, NOT three Gods. Jesus lived for 33 years on Earth, fully man and fully God, yet He chose to depend fully on the Holy Spirit to perform ALL His miracles. In addition to offering us Salvation, as noted in the above paragraph, He also modeled how Mankind can live a holy life through the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

Living a Christ-centred life does NOT necessarily mean a life of material wealth, but a life of joy (as opposed to 'hapiness', which is circumstance driven) in all circumstances.
