He’s a pig to be sure, but you are spot on It is the NFL’s double jeopardy. Bunch of incompetents run that place.
Some team who is in the hunt for the playoffs and has a running back go down with an injury will take a flyer on him.
Make him wear a pink uniform- Oh,wait!
Is it Festivus already?
And it’s pretty much an open and shut case, Rice will win.
Or a scarlet letter.
How come none of the articles ever tell the reader that She was Attacking Him when he defended himself, albeit with a little too much force??
Agree; Rice will win in a slam dunk. The NFL knows it. When the NIL loses; Goodell can claim he tried, but evil arbitrator ruled.against them.
Goodell doesn’t care about the outcome of this action; he’s just trying to cover his ass.
Looks more like triple jeopardy. First the two game suspension, then the indefinite suspension, then he was cut by the Ravens.
Yep.

It’s not double jeopardy at all. He’s been suspended by the league and the team has declared that if he gets unsuspended then he’s a free agent they don’t want him. Falcons did the same thing with Vick, Pats did the same with Hernandez. The employment situation of players is multilayer-ed, with multiple people able to punish them. It’s like working for a temp agency, both the agency AND the people paying the agency can decide individually or together they don’t want you around anymore.
The first half of your sentence is right. But Rice will lose. Private organizations are under no form of compulsion against layered punishment. Lots of guys get punished by their team and the league, for big PR hits like this it’s basically the standard, teams often don’t want players that draw that kind of fire. Pacman Jones got cut by the Titans while suspended by the league, Rice has got nothing to stand on.
That’s the AIRING of grievances......
I got a lot of problems with you people, and now you’re going to hear about them!
Rice's contention is that the league imposed a suspension of six games, then imposed a second punishment of an indefinite suspension.
And according to Rice's lawyers, the league is only allowed to impose one punishment per infraction.
It's not the punishment that is the issue so much than the second punishment that followed the first.
They suspended him for 2 games, then reacted to the @$## storm and increased it to indefinite, but the league changes suspension lengths all the time. Usually shorter, but changes are pretty standard. It’s all still one punishment.
This POS is no man.....no real man hits a woman (any woman) in the face with a full out shot
real men do not hit women .....ever
were you raised by wolves?
It seems that when suspensions are changed, it's because of an appeal. I'm not sure if such a thing happened yet in Rice's case.
Regardless, Rice will have a chance to make his case, and if the NFL violated the CBA, Rice could prevail.
I sit corrected..,
I got a lot of problems with you people
That's exactly what I heard when I wrote my OP. In Frank's voice, of course.
