IRVING, Texas The Cowboys have decided to waive defensive end Michael Sam.
The practice squad player who joined the team on Sept. 3, spent the first seven weeks of the season on the 10-man squad and never made it to the 53-man roster.
Sam, the first openly-gay player in the NFL, was a seventh-round draft pick of the Rams.

They have gone 6-1 with him on the taxi squad, not on the active roster. So I can see the Cowboys decide they don’t need him.
Maybe he can go back to Oprah and talk about that reality show he was going to do for her network?????
And now he’s not getting a paycheck anymore. What will he do, how will he pay his bills? Hope he doesn’t start shoplifting, as that has happened with a certain Cowboy player........
Do they hire fluffers?
“What do liberals do when their plans dont work out as scheduled???”

Call the ACLU.
.
At first glance, the titled seemed to me that they “waved at” him. Like “Hi, Sailor!”
Because I don’t understand sports jargon, I had to read the comments to see that he was cut.
Ya, if the liberals wanted to push this, they could open a civil rights investigation.
Imagine a world in which Obama and Eric Holder weigh in on player personnel decisions for football teams. I sure hope this doesn’t happen, just being flippant here.
Yeah, but even so, if their season suddenly went south, you know somebody is going to say it.
Personally, I think the Cowboys are for real this year, and look really tough. But I hear you, if things change, somebody will talk about whether Sam could have helped them. And bring up why was he cut, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Is that a butt pirate?
Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!
Whatta bunch of bigots.
+1. Funny.
But he wasn't alone, he had a partner...
Will Roger Goodell start making another round of phone calls to find Sam a spot?
not a surprise
Jerry Jones is a racist! /s
The most remarkable thing is how LITTLE news related to Sams was in the news since he joined the Cowboys squad. It was relentless day in and out during camp in St Louis. The Cowboys - literally the biggest news makers in the NFL when it comes to ESPN - kept this under control from day 1.
Now we are in for more news cycles on this non-new story. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him back with the Rams as their defense overall hasn’t met expectations (last week being the exception beating the Seahawks).
They do look good. I still question how long this defense can hold up.
It reminds me of the 1991 team. There was one missing piece, a pass rusher. Then they got Charles Haley next year, and we all know what happened then.
That’s why I expect the Cowboys to go hard for Suh in the off-season.
He’s a come from behind kinda guy.
