This man is a fantastic Painter. I suggest you buy his work now. I pray that the artist is left alone, but dont be surprised at any attempts to ‘Lois Lerner” him into bankruptcy should Obola begin to feel threatened and need a new scapegoat.

I draw but do not paint nearly as well as this. If you can afford it, go for the purchase, as a patron of his work. I like that he does not overly rely on using extremely bright colors to define his subjects. There is room for the Fauve approach, but too many artists use Fauve or compositions dominated by a dynamic splash of color as a crutch, a sort of glittery panacea.

I have two of his works, both prints, “The Forgotten Man” and “Stand Your Ground”.

Love the way he communicates via his paintings, so very powerful and well executed.

No regrets at all.

I haven’t thought of these paintings in a long time, but when I looked again at “The Forgotten Man”, where Obama is trampling on the Constitution, it is still a moving and disturbing image.

I would think that right now, there is a market for these paintings and the kind of country they represent. The market I’m thinking of would be in the growing number of American Expatriates who now live away from the Lower 48, and have moved to Europe, South America, Israel, and England.

These are people who are already hurting for the America they have left, most because of high taxation and few Swiss Bank Account like situations. Some may have followed a spouse and since decided they did not wish to live in Obama’a America at all.

So are saying the now the market would be out of the country?

I plan to hold them for many years and maybe forever. lol I just love his works but I know absolutely nothing about art.

A wonderful choice in art and patronizing a wonderful artist.

I got to speak to one of his assistants at his Salt Lake City gallery... really nice people.

His love of God and our country’s principles is deep and genuine. You won’t regret it. His work is beautiful, truthful, and transcendent.

I don’t know a whole lot about art, either, but I know what I love. :)

As an artist and conservative, the best advice that I can provide is that if you purchase and original or reproduction of any painting, you should do so only for the pleasure it brings you. McNaughton’s work has an emotional appeal for a segment of potential buyers; but buyers who elevate the price of paintings (and enourage their “investment value”) may not be all that enamoured with McNaughton’s work. It is a tricky thing and no matter what a gallery or dealer tells you, do not buy on the basis of “investment value”, unless of course, the work in question is a Rembrant, Van Gogh etc. whose purchase history is one of price escalation and increased value. And even then you might find yourself as “last fool” purchaser.

I agree with you. I didn’t purchase them for investment per se, I purchased them because I really like them. That is why it was so hard to choose just one so I didn’t. Do you know what this giclee is about? It’s on canvas that is all I know. I hope I made the right decision.

Giclee (”glee kay”) is an enhanced (usually canvas) reproduction that can show brushstroke depth and enhanced clarity. Some artists will try to increase their value by adding a smattering of paint to them. The deal on giclee is the extent to whch you prefer or can afford an enhanced copy of an original to just a basic paper or cardboard reproduction. I do not know if there is a glicee aftermarket but would assume that they are more valuable than a basic color reproduction on paper or heavy stock. Hope this helps.

That’s a good one, but my favorite is “The Forgotten Man.”
