The fiance of Amber Joy Vinson, the second person to contract the Ebola virus in the United States, is under quarantine in Texas.
No name or age has been given for the fiance, who is in Dallas under self-quarantine, which basically means that hell avoid contact with others and alert officials if he shows any symptoms.
The man isnt showing signs of the virus as of yet but will stay home from work for the next three weeks to play it safe, reported WFAA.
His employer, NationStar Mortgage in Lewisville, says the man called them and admitted that hed been around Amber leading up to her diagnosis.
Senior management at the company believe everyone is safe.
Our understanding is from the health authorities weve talked to is that since he was last at work on Thursday, and the person he was in contact with who has the illness didnt show symptoms until this week, that theres no risk or danger to anyone at NationStar because there was no contamination present in our building, spokesman John Hoffmann said...

Here’s the answer. And I keep thinking people know all this.
there is no blood test for ebola. Why would there be?
they have a very broad test they use. THe only definitive test is symptoms.
THis is the purest stupidity of the type that we sensed on election day 2012.
So, I’ll back off. And I am a nurse.
But I know this from when the nuns told us about the Titanic sinking. They said that the builders were so prideful that it was bound to sink - that any flaws would have been and were ignored.
It is pure ridiculousness that those entrusted with our protection have not quarantined west Africa. It will certainly happen eventually.
True or not, it’s at least a metaphor...for me.
And I always think ‘worst case’.
Viruses are mysterious. The flu of 1917 is still unknown in many ways.
When there is a vaccine for any particular virus, it is as a result of long term studies and some luck. THere’s no guarantee. AIDs was talked about as a mysterious killer for a long time before it was even known as a virus.
Ebola has been studied since 1976.
No drug company here has been hot on the trail to study it.
It’s costly and very low risk, as we’re not going to get it over here, oh, unless our boneheaded government and politicians obstruct protective measures we have enjoyed for two hundred years since our founding.
Now they are scrambling.
And everyone seems to expect everyone to just jump to it and fix it.
The Dallas hospital was not informed, nor was any hospital nor airline that they must expect ebola patients.
Maybe bammy knows they are not equipped maybe he doesn’t.
But they are not. And there is no massive protocol in place not even to save the lives of health care workers.
Molon labia
Come and catch it
Nope, nothing since two days ago. Hmm...
Very little virus load present until they start to show symptoms. Quite simply, that's why they aren't sick yet. Even at the peak of symptoms a fluid may not show virus in a particular patient (e.g. saliva). There have been a few documented cases of transmission pre-symptoms but not many.
I don’t need to know what she told them.
She got on an airplane after having been exposed to full blown ebola.
If a nurse doesn’t know to stay home after that, or is so lacking in concern, or in such denial, and the CDC can’t figure out to take over, then the vapidity of that conversation will only discourage.
But there is no way that hospital workers in this country are going to be any more wise than the CDC or this woman or the Airlines who blame the government as well instead of simply refusing to fly out of Africa, or who accept passengers who have come from there.
Airline stocks...take a look.
At least it isn’t airborne. People need to quit licking faces and having sex with folks with Obola.
What better way to crash what is left of the economy- just make everyone stay home
PCR and antigen ELISA certainly are specific tests for Ebola when set up that way.
good point why aren’t airlines cancelling flights on their own? bet passengers are.
Your need not to know does not trump my desire to know.
Bet we won’t be told that.
It doesn’t get any more complicated than Quint telling the Amity council that if they don’t hire him for what he’s worth, they’ll be on welfare the whole winter just for playing it cheap.
Heck, Larry Vaughan is the poster child for the entire government and elected rip off artists.
The CDC tried to throw the first nurse under the bus, when Frieden suggested that she took shortcuts and did not follow procedures at the hospital.
We soon found out that the nurses weren’t given proper protection.
Now the CDC is throwing the second nurse under the bus by claiming she shouldn’t have flown.
Then we found out that the second nurse called the CDC, and the CDC cleared her to fly. The CDC confirmed that she called and was cleared to fly.
But the CDC still is trying to throw her under the bus. They said she should’ve known not to fly. What? A nurse should’ve known what a CDC official didn’t know?
And they’re still trying to throw her under the bus. They’re claiming that she lied and didn’t mention that she also was feeling tired. What? She reported a low-grade fever after treating an Ebola patient. Wasn’t that enough?
Frieden needs to go.
Welcome to the Obola administration. YOU are the disease and WE are the cure.
I’ll extend this a little. There are two red flags here, IMO. I don’t trust the nurse’s account, because she knows she screwed up and might be trying to shift blame away from herself. I also don’t trust the CDC account, because they may also be trying to shift blame away from themselves. The only way I will be convinced is to have a transcript that I can read.
Right...I forgot to mention the obstructive FDA and their obstructive manner of obstructing all medical progression the interest of who knows what at any given time or circumstance.
I was going to bring up “The Knick” as well.
btw, it’s a fantastic series.
Oh and don’t forget the “I am not smooth speaking about Ebola” crap.
These Smooth folks reassuring us
That is, until they die of Ebola!
