An emergency room nurse who treated a fellow nurse who contracted the Ebola virus in Dallas is taking time off and retained a noted Fort Lauderdale plaintiffs firm rather than return to work.
Briana Aguirre, 30, contacted Robert W. Kelley of the Kelley/Uustal firm after concluding Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital was not adequately protecting staff from the lethal virus, Kelley said.
With Kelley by her side, Aguirre was interviewed Thursday by Matt Lauer of NBC's "Today Show." She told Lauer the biohazard outfits given to nurses left a 3-inch gap below the chin that potentially allowed contaminated fluid to travel to the mouth and nose.

ROTFLMAO!!!
Bye, 'Penny'.
See posts 45, 67, and 75.
Penny is also someone else...
You are correct. Administrators have historically played fast and loose with the welfare of first line healthcare workers. In the event of mishap, they call “operator error.” In instances of egregious irresponsibility, they claim, “I wasn’t aware that there was a problem.”
Check your blood pressure.
Your post number 104 is quite fitting. Shall I call you Cruella?

70 over 50.
Heart rate 60.
What about yours retread?
Hey Sarge, see post 45.
What we have here is someone trying to be clever.
They claimed they couldn’t recall their login.
And don’t you know it, they miraculously remember it after being banned as Penny...
Let me know when you are able to form a real argument for your side of the actual issue at hand. Posters who name call because they cannot come up with a real explanation for their point of view are a dime a dozen.
Hey, I’m not the one with my panties in a bunch over being mocked over the moronic posts like, oh, post 19.
Ever heard of John P Holdren?
Or your post 13: “ I think everyone is learning as they go.”
Ebola is a biohazard level 4 contagion.
That has been known since it was first discovered.
The response to it is laughably amateurish, to the point of purposeful obtusity.
Oh, and frieden insists you CAN’T get Ebola by riding on a bus, but you can GIVE it.
Lol.
WHO admits it failed in Africa.
The CDC failed in multiple ways.
Dallas Presbyterian Hospital failed
Relying on questionares to keep it out of the U.S. failed.
Plus many individual failures.
I do not think anyone intended to make things worse but everyone has failed. Shall we sue everyone. Shall fellow passengers with Amber Joy Vinson sue her? Fault can be found pretty much everywhere.
I agree the “you can give it but can’t get it” thing is ridiculous. There are so many mistakes and failures from top to bottom on this that it is amazing. I just think a bunch of lawsuits will only serve as a hinderance. I think part of why DPHospital had so many workers exposed to Duncan was because of their fear of a lawsuit from Duncan’s family.
This disease is not new but the degree it has spread is new. Mistakes need to be addressed and corrected, but if every fault ends up as a lawsuit then pretty much every player on the scene will be sued. In that case people stop speaking freely so that mistakes can be corrected and instead they parse their words and lawyer up. I can’t see how that will help.
” I do not think anyone intended to make things worse but everyone has failed.”
Lol.
John P. Holdren, Ubama science czar.
Said the United States needed to be depopulated.
You need to pay attention to who is running the show.
Yes, they do intend to make things worse.
John P. Holden would have if he could have according to his own admission. I will not argue with you on that. He has not been a player in this outbreak. That is giving the doofus way too much credit for power and cunning that he simply does not have.
I am talking about WHO and CDC and DPHospital and all the players along that line.
I am for looking into every failure and correcting the problems. I just think if everyone stops talking and being honest in an effort to protect themselves against lawsuits then problems will be harder to find and fix. This disease kills and kills fast. We need frankness so we can discover and fix the failures.
” John P. Holden would have if he could have according to his own admission. I will not argue with you on that.”
Then why continue?
Especially since it is here, and the scumbags in charge intend tod harm.
At this point, continuing to mention WHO and Africa is pointless.
And the administration has no interest in correcting “problems”.
Note the stubborn gleeful insistence on NOT imposing a travel ban.
You sure spent an awful lot of time arguing to get to finally admitting this much:” John P. Holden would have if he could have according to his own admission. I will not argue with you on that.”
The defenders of Holden say his comments were in a book written in 1973 and that his views have changed. I am not one who trusts the views have changed argument. Liberals obsess over the topic of over-population and it drives many of their hideous ideologies: abortion, homosexuality, etc.
While in theory he may think ebola is a good thing in the sense that it would reduce population, I do not believe at this point anyone has purposely helped it spread for that reason (or any other reason).
You can honestly say you believe Obama and those associated with him want to see ebola spread and have in fact worked to spread it?
“Never let a crisis go to waste.”
And this administration fully believes it.
And Holdren still believes what he wrote whole heartedly.
If anything, age has made him crazier.
