Two months after American bombs and missiles began pounding fighters of the so-called Islamic State, President Barack Obamas undeclared war in Iraq and Syria finally has a name: Operation Inherent Resolve.
The Wall Street Journal had reported on Oct. 3 that the name had been considered and rejected, with one unnamed military officer saying it is just kind of bleh.
The long search for a name had sparked a flurry of jokes on Twitter, where one leading tongue-in-cheek suggestion was that it be called Operation Hey Wasnt That My Humvee a reference to U.S. airstrikes hitting Islamic State fighters using American equipment captured from Iraqi troops.

Get back to me when it’s called Operation Crusader.
As of now it could be called Operation Sh*tforbrains.
Inherent resolve to create a Caliphate.
As an operational title, "Inherent Resolve" is right up there with such admin monikers as "Win The Future." It was Sarah Palin who blew the whistle on that one by asking,
We’re really in a hurt locker. A terrible threat staring us in the face and we cannot trust the CIC to safeguard our forces on the ground, in the air or at sea. Being “in harms way” has new meaning. Our forces have to fear foreign enemies and it’s own leadership. Pray for them.
Operation Superficial Opposition.
The true plan is to help ISIS take Syria. “Bombing ISIS” is theater.
Prezactly.
I think hey meant: Incoherent
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Operation Nuke Em sounds like a better name and strategie
They misspelled incoherent.
From this administration, it’s more like..
Operation Taint Tickler.
Operation Inherent Resolve?
Nice to know that are resolve has to inherently explained...
It was originally, Operation “Inherited from Bush.”
I thought it might be called Indigenous People....
“Inherent Resolve”?
INHERENT: Existing in something as a permanent, essential, or characteristic attribute.
RESOLVE: Firm determination to do something.
So we have a firm determination to blow up these people which exists as a permanent, essential and characteristic attribute of ourselves.
In other words, we would be resolved to blow these people up no matter what they did, because this resolve is an inherent part of our nature.
Furthermore, this is a permanent part of our nature, which means we have always wanted to blow these people up, even before they started this terrorist campaign. This resolve always has been and always will be.
But how can you be inherently resolved against something that is transitory in nature? So we must be resolved against something that is inherent to our enemy, something that exists as a permanent, essential and characteristic attribute of their nature.
Can somebody explain to me how this is not outrageously racist?
What is his Ebola campaign named... Operation Kill Us All?
