A London hospital was totally unprepared when a suspected Ebola patient walked into A&E, it was claimed today.
Health authorities have carried out high-profile drills in a bid to show that Britain is ready for the feared arrival of the disease.
But an insider at Lewisham hospital said the response when a potential case walked into casualty on Saturday night shows the reality of the situation is much worse.

Actually I wouldn’t tell a doctor treating me my profession,I don’t want to freak them out.

I’m sure they know your profession as soon as you open your mouth. And treating lawyers doesn’t freak me out. I dont personally care if my patient is a lawyer, astronaut or janitor. I try to treat them all with the same amount of respect I show the janitor.
It never occurs to them.

I think the reluctance on the part of the medical profession to treat Ebola patients is due to the mendacity coming from the CDC and other bureaucrats. If they provided them with the same level of equipment that they wear in the research lab when dealing with Ebola, it would be a fairer fight. Apparently TPTB think doctors, nurses, EMTs, and other support providers are expendable, and I’d refuse to treat patients under those conditions too.
Two of my children work doing research with viruses where they must wear layers of the full body suits and decontaminate.
They still see other workers violating protocol all the time.
The employees learn where the cameras are not able to monitor and go there to open their suits and scratch themselves.

I find the observations outlined in your comments, while quite surprising, to be very true.
In the early 1990’s I did quite a bit of spirit deposition work. I found several of my counterparts developing more than compassion and tough Love for their adversaries and ended up getting stung and losing their lives.
It’s easy to slip into developing compassion for the behavior rather than loving the person and rejecting the behavior.
I would do it, I have no love for this world.
There is a big difference between having no Love for this world and not Loving the people in this world. They too are children of God.
A few months ago I was in deep meditation and crying to God to allow me to come home again and experience His pure Love. His response to me was, “Love Me in all the people around you.”...... Easier said than done!!!! Would be so much easier to just check out again.

Very true for psychiatrists as well. It’s difficult paying attention to a patient during an interview while typing up the responses to their questions on a computer. It’s depersonalizing medicine. Telemedicine is even worse and it’s use is rapidly increasing.
Yes, that’s why I say I would help, the world is a harsh place, but compassion for its struggling creatures who didn’t ask for this dictates we should help out

The government needs to provide complete malpractice insurance coverage for retired physicians who volunteer their time. Most physicians are put in a situation where they can’t volunteer their services for free when they retire as they still need the high cost malpractice insurance.

Not for me. I have my eyes on right/wrong all the time. Compassion for bad behavior? Never.
I have compassion for the person UP TO A POINT. People have free will and CAN change. That free will is what separates us from all living creatures.
What is probably the most sad is that those poor souls never developed much backbone or strength of character. Hard to believe that it's part of their character.
I have compassion for the truly innocent: little children and animals.
Your counterparts lost their ability to judge rightly. VERY dangerous, obviously. They paid for their mistakes in the penultimate way.
