It got pretty close to -30 air temp at my place. I'm just N-W of the Cities and right on the Mississippi. Outside of the "heat island" effect and in a low area due to the proximity of the river, we average 2-3 degrees cooler.

I blew a couple extra inches of insulation in the attic two years ago and we put that plastic sheeting on some of the older windows. Keeps us nice and toasty. ;-)

There IS something comforting about hermetically sealing yourself in for the winter, LOL! I do the plastic on the west windows and patio doors; makes a HUGE difference.
