We had a nice dinner. Mom and I had the salmon. She has gone over to meet the overnight aide, and I came back to the apartment to feed the cat. She’ll call me if she needs backup.

We went out to lunch (Chinese) and then to her Weight Watchers meeting. She’d lost 3 lbs. Then we went to an upscale consignment store, where she bought a jacket. I heard one of the managers telling a consignor, “We’ll only take jeans if they retailed for at least $100.” This ain’t no Salvation Army store, hon. I didn’t find anything there.

Then we went to the Hospice Thrift Store, where she bought me a nice black dress with a small floral pattern and a cool beaded neckline for $18. I can wear it to church, because it has a neckline like a crew-neck t-shirt and real short sleeves, unlike my Salvation Army one that’s sleeveless and rather plunging.

Good thing I couldn’t find Pat’s little NRA satchel when I was packing, because I’m going to need the extra space in my bag. She also has a Hello Kitty sleeper and robe for Kathleen, whose Hallowe’en pajamas won’t be warm enough most of the winter.

Oh, how envious I am! Please, promise me next time I visit, that you will take me to your favorite thrift stores? Please?

Chinese food sounds good, and the next time I have any extra money, I will go to the little one down the street. It’s old and shabby, but the food is excellent! I’m anxious to try the dinner menu, because all I’ve had is the lunch.

Do you need anything striking for the new little black dress? I’ll see what I have or if I can whomp something up to set it off.

I always had my son in a “Trundle Bundle” jammie thing, as he kept wiggling out of the covers and his skin would be icy in the winter. I think he was in one until he was four. Then I couldn’t find them any more. It’s good that Kathleen will have something warm to sleep in...
