All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:
That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

I’ve always been good at tests. However, I can’t fix a washing machine, which would be much more helpful at this time!
Why yes, you did!
The debbil made me do it.
(I wish I had a little kitteh...)
The washer needs a new water pump. It could be here by Friday, or it could take forever. Good thing the Laundromat is close by! Tom and Elen will be going there when they get back from camp this weekend, and DP and Bill will be going there when they come back from Myrtle Beach.
Oh, THANKS!!!
The bookcase is up but I’m missing an anchor pin, and a couple of shelf pegs, but I can go to Lowe’s and see if I can find them. It was a lot easier to assemble than I expected, but it IS an IKEA, so I should have known it would be pretty much a done deal, even by myself.
I will also check to see if I can find a nylon strap about 2.5’ long to anchor the top of it to the wall. It is a perfect fit behind the door!
Maybe they could put a manual pump on it and Tom and Ellen can pump water instead of feeding the laundromat machine it’s daily dose of quarters?
“...all the Cr*p you learned in High School.”
At least they got around to teaching Cr*p.
We where taught just enough to pass the final Exams.
The Rain arrived this Evening.
A light gentle rain....the kind that will get you soaked to the skin in a polite manner.
“IKEA....”
Has Claus Olsen also ventured out West?
You can tell from his expression that he’s really irritated with you!
Phoenix AZ and Victorville CA but none in Vegas, yet. I got this one free, when I was living in Tucson in 2005. I got the bottom shelf backwards, but will paint the edge gray to match the rest of it as soon as I can find some gray paint. Walmart, maybe.
Giant Green Hornet (Japan)
Yeah, I don’t care for wasps and hornets, myself.
I used to like the green hornet.
Some people do like insects.
While intellectually, I understand that certain insects are necessary for life to continue, I DON’T WANT THEM IN MY HOUSE!!!
Having said that, I’m glad other people like them...it gives the critters a chance to “continue.” Otherwise, I would wipe out as many as I could.
Oh! Hay! I just realized I’ll be unpacking my books soon! Probably not until Monday, but I think when I come across something that I don’t want, I will text you the title. If you want it I can set it aside. Otherwise I will give them to the community room.
Sending you a text is much easier than writing it all down on paper, then transferring it to FReepmail. All you have to do is enter “Y” or “N.”
When I send the first ones, I will include the two books you loaned me.
Sounds good, and I will send you the postage when it’s calculated!
