Hmm. CatDog!
Not a bad cartoon.
Thanks for reminding me. My youngest works at a clothing store very near the tree. I didn’t hear of any outright violence last night but it’s good to check in. Maybe she wasn’t even working.
I’m here. The valley is foggy, so I bet there are a lot of accidents this morning.
I’ve got the heater on in the bathroom so I can go shower in a bit, and there is a cup of tea steeping in the microwave.
I have some errands to run this morning that I didn’t get to yesterday, but I don’t know whether to pick April up first or last. The errands will only take me about 30 minutes, but I don’t want to bring her home and leave her. I suppose I’ll figure it out...
She should be ok. I didn’t see any violence on the news. One police car was set alight. Some arrests, but no one was hurt,,thank goodness.
I wish I could see the tree this year. I love that, go skating at the rink, have some hot chocolate, look at the windows at Macy’s and Lord and Taylor’s.
If I really had time I’d go to the Met and see the Van Goghs. I never tire of looking at those.
Good morning. A gift for presently-April is in the mailbox on its way to you.
It’s sunny and pretty warm here. Our colored balls in the tree out front look very cheerful.
Presently April is hiding under the bed. I found out she had been in the vet’s office constantly since June 16, and everyone there is attached to her. They are all happy she has a home for the holidays...
She has orange brindle markings, and I’ve never seen anything like it in a black cat. There is a tiny orange boomerang on her forehead, pointing to her nose! It will take her a few days to adjust to not being in a cage, but I will just let her take her time.
I have to go make some enlargements and then I will price some trees at the dollar store. Then come home and try to get some of this mess cleaned up. Unghhh.
Welcome home, presently-April! She’ll come out while you’re gone ;-).
In addition to April’s present, I put a picture in the mail of Kathleen in her Hello Kitty Bat outfit.
I came back from the last of my errands and have been puttering around trying to be “normal” so Presently April will get used to the sounds. I put the litter box, food and water in the bedroom for her, as she may be quite traumatized by suddenly having freedom after six months of confinement. It may be several days before she comes out, but I will just leave her alone until she is ready.
It’s dark outside as the fog is slow to lift, so the bedroom is quite dark. She will be OK, I know. I’m thinking of calling her Boomerang, but I will wait a few weeks to see what she thinks of it. She may have something entirely different to call herself.
I need to get up from here and get the dishes done and pretend that I’m normal.... *E-vil laughter!*
That’s actually the best thing to do, let kitty get use to the room, shut the door and give her time. She will probably be napping on your bed this evening.
Amazon texted me, your kitty gift is due tomorrow by six pm your time. I hope she loves it.
I’m so glad you have a kitty. Welcome kitty,
Presently April is best left in the dark, to come out when she is ready, and I’m not going to force her. Once she is used to the new smells and sounds, she will venture out, and I can get acquainted with her.
The white cat was gone when I got there this morning, and in her place was a BIG ol’ black male with a “lion cut!” And he had the squeakiest voice! I LOL’d!
Since UPS usually comes between 1100 and 1300, I will have it in plenty of time! Thank you so much! I’m sure Presently April will thank you, as well when she finally comes around.
55 degrees, 100%...no wonder I steamed up the truck windows this morning. I had to use the defrost for the first time ever! LOL!
I mailed something to you yesterday that I thought would be of interest. I also got the ornament boxed up and will try to ship it Monday. If I make it through today with no more problems than I’ve had, I will go wash clothes tomorrow. I need to!!!
I thought this was pretty, so enjoy...

It will be nice to get a surprise in the mail.
I have a bad feeling that your kitty is going to end up “Presently April” permanently ;-).
Nope. I won’t allow that. It takes too long to type, let alone, say...
I sorted my clothes and did the dishes and got a bunch of Nativities put up. Kroger had Norfolk Island pines for $12 so when I get my Christmas money from Busdaddy, I will get one. I have a set of little wooden ornaments that will look really cute on it. I also have some miniature blown glass ornaments that can be used next year, if I can keep from killing it.
Now, I just have to finish cleaning the table off and get it set with my Christmas dishes. I don’t plan on a Christmas dinner, but I like looking at the dishes on the table. They are so festive!
We need to borrow a pole or ladder to put more lights up.
You could always shorten it to just plain April. Then you could (officially) call her J. P. April...
You know - short for Just Plain April...
Tom won't let you stand on his shoulders?? ;-)
Kitty’s nick should be “PA” ... obviously. BTW, bird girl is flopping all over the floor in here. She can fluuter both wings and work her little legs, but that head just doesn’t want to get up off the floor. I put some seeds down for her. Miss Kitty is at the French door watching intently!
He might, but it would make more sense for Pat to stand on Tom’s shoulders: he’s lighter and more agile.
Tom says he’s too big to climb a ladder, but I pointed out that our east-side neighbor is heavier *and* in his late 50s, and he was on the ladder ...
I don’t like April for a cat’s name, especially this one. Some names I have considered...Spot, Snowball, Speck, Spectre, Whitewash, and Boomerang. The last one in my favorite. Of course, it will no doubt be shortened to Boomer, but hay...it could be worse...like JP April...
