All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:
That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

And another Kitteh because it's Friday!
I will be away Saturday and Sunday morning. Please help yourselves to the ping list, which is found at the top of my profile page.
If I’ve told Dr. Moreau once, I’ve told him a hundred times - no barking labs for lab boys!
Rumor has it that most dentistry techniques were developed by intelligence organizations looking for better ways to extract information from unfriendly informants.
I struggled from a really strong norapaid feeling yesterda. I just couldn’t shake it all afternoon. I kept feeling like nobody was watching me, nobody was talking about me, and nobody was plotting behind my back.
Strange.
It makes me feel better but it does make me wonder about YOU.
It was in regard to this:
To: GeronL
I know the feeling. I feel as if the ugly realities of the world started to push in on me after my 10th birthday. Much of my teenagerhood was spent thinking about how great it was before I turned 10.
I think thats why Timothy Learys call to Turn on, tune in, and drop out, became so popular.
But the world needs adults. Preferably those who can help keep that place for children - that place that the world seems to be trying to take away as we speak.

I wanted to respond to it, but I hadn’t decided what to say.
It kinda rings a bell with me. I have the feeling that we face the world with a different viewpoint when we aren’t thinking with chemicals.
ArGee, am with Bob at the tennis court. Am a tennis ball. The potato eyes are watching you.
Well considering everything in our bodies is a chemical we are always thinking with chemicals.
But I think you are referring to not thinking while our body chemistry is altered by drugs we have ingested. And you’re probably not referring to caffeine or sugar or some of the other mind-altering substances we ingest on a regular basis.
My point was simply that the world of adults is not fun, but if adults don’t face it, childhood doesn’t have a chance. Just ask those schoolgirls that were abducted by Boko Haram.
I will be away Friday and Saturday. Washing clothes, so I’m sure I won’t be having as much fun as you will.
I’ll get to do all the wash when I come back!
Thank You for the Freedom Jim and allowing ... Running Free ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuTKyiJsk_0
In the center of the photo, I suspect they perceive the object to look like a canteen cup with the opening facing you (shadow), with a lid and handle half way open downwards.
The other photo with the “fork” resting atop the bowl, appears to look like a spare tire wheel cover off an earlier model Thunderbird, and the fork looks like a Spanner wrench of some sort.
The combination of the semicircular shell, with the other anomalous wrench-like artifact atop it, does appear to be intelligently manufactured.
You do all the wash? Where can I drop mine off?
So, not made in America?
If the three of you think it will help with the FReepathon Threads, please add my nick to any of the lists of contributors. I am only one but I know how important this communication life line is to America. Thanks to Jim, this communication life line is up and running strong. Is becoming where, what, when and no ‘if’, thus may my small effort be of help to each of you to conclude FReepathons thus that each of us may concentrate on what is important.
We can’t add you. You have to ask Jim.
