With all the recent court decisions siding in JVP's favor, I felt it a good time to boil this down to the bare truth. Cef gives it to you here if you want to listen.

I'm glad you brought up the shower incident, because that to me is the most disturbing piece of evidence of all. According to the grand jury testimony, it isn't about what McQuerry told Paterno he saw. It is about what McQuerry told Paterno he heard. McQuerry arrives at the locker building at night. He testifies that he sees lights coming from the shower area and hears water running. But before he actually enters the shower area, he testified that he heard the sound of human flesh slapping together. Do you understand? Sandusky was slamming his erect penis into the anus of an eleven-year-old boy with such force that the sound could be heard around the corner above the sound of running showers. And this is what he told Joe Paterno the next day - what he heard.

And what did the "fine man" named Joe Paterno do about it? Nothing. Not a damn thing. The "fine man" Joe Paterno could have stopped Sandusky in his tracks, preventing any more children to be victimized. But instead, the "fine man" Joe Paterno chose to be an enabler for a child predator.

There is a special place in hell reserved for "fine man" such as that.

Driven McQuerry straight to the District Attorney's office for starters. Yet Paterno couldn't even manage to take Sandusky's keys away.

That is a lie and you know it...By state law, Paterno was required to inform his superiors at the university...He did that...If he had gone to the newspapers or anywhere else with that story, he could have been charged with a crime...do you get that?

I think that's what Paterno's supporters struggle with the most: that he flushed decades of good work and deeds down the toilet with one fateful decision (to look the other way). But hey, that's life. Life's not fair.

That is the most pathetic claim I have seen yet. Apparently, their testimony was good enough to get Sandusky indicted, and Paterno fired. Yet you say it was very flawed.

It disgusts me to no end to see people fall to such evil depths to defend the enabling of child rape.

Legal minimalism? Really? What Paterno should have done was to put public safety above everything else. Yet Paterno chose not to do that. And by choosing not to act, he accepted liability for any future assaults against the safety of the public.

What he should have done legally was to go straight to the District Attorney. And no, there is nothing "illegal" about going to the District Attorney.

So you don't care if, for example, some prominentoes at Penn State but NOT Paterno were engaged in the same actual misbehavior as Sandusky, meeting their victims through Sandusky's Second Mile Foundation? Just so long as Paterno, the only genuinely public figure outside of the Penn State community gets his for not reporting to public authorities or the inquisitive general public rumors which had been passed to him, especially where the university included in his and everyone else's employment contract that all such complaints be made ONLY to university administrators (Graham's, ummmm, boys). Got it.

Your posts are a lot more likely to reflect PSU "stuff" namely blame the dead guy and the rest of us get off! Other than Sandusky but, once he was indicted and a bunch of actual victims testified, Sandusky was headed for life in the hoosegow.

Paterno is dead and well beyond your reach or the jurisdiction of any earthly court. I want additional heads taken if ANYONE else is guilty. Why don't you?
