You want to know what you can do to stop this crap in the academy? Bring your kids up with the realization that a ‘college’ education is completely unnecessary today. Unless the kids want a profession, forget the sociology degree. America needs people that can do things and people who are motivated to make dreams come true. Entrepreneurialism and a good set of technical skills will serve a flexible individual better than trying to pimp a sheepskin in crowded unemployment lines. When people get dialed in to this, the slack in college enrollment will put pressure on staff roles and performance criteria.

College educations, while becoming more irrelevant daily, are still required. My daughter knows better than to pursue a degree in sociology, or womens studies, or parapsycology, or whatever the flavor of the day is. She’s pursuing ag business, which is a lucrative degree, especially here in Texas.
