Cesar Millan (A.K.A. The Dog WHisperer) quote:

“Yeah, but this is a different breed…the power that comes behind the bull dog, pit bull, presa canario, the fighting breed – They have an extra boost, they can go into a zone, they don’t feel the pain anymore. … So if you are trying to create submission in a fighting breed, it’s not going to happen.

They would rather die than surrender. If you add pain, it only infuriates them…to them pain is that adrenaline rush, they are looking forward to that, they are addicted to it… That’s why they are such great fighters.”

He goes on to say: “Especially with fighting breeds, you’re going to have these explosions over and over because there’s no limits in their brain.” Wow, is that what you want in a pet? A dog that has “explosions over and over” in its brain?

Ever try just yelling at them. Usually that works if you
can get them to acknowledge you that is otherwise
you have to choke them out.

Did anything in my post say that I recommended a American Pit Bull Terrier as a pet, or that I don't think we have a problem with dogs that have Pit Bull Terrier characteristic?

No, nothing said that, nor that I wanted a fighting breed.

I simply stated that the much-repeated myth that pit bulls have locking jaws is untrue.

You'll notice this thread was about 'pit bulls.' Your response is about more than 'pit bulls.'

You'll notice Cesar mentioned the bull dog and the presa canario. Those aren't 'pit bulls.' There are a lot of 'not pit bull' breeds that I wouldn't want because they are strong, aggressive, mega-alpha, protection or even bear-hunting dogs with a history of killing people. American Bullies. Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs. Cana Presarios. Caucasian Ovcharkas (definitely not Caucasian Ovcharkas. Definitely. Possibly more than any other breed.) Tosa Inus. American Bandogges. Dogo Argentinos. Boer Boels. Gull Dongs. Fila Brasileiros.

I could continue, but the list is quite long and there are many breeds that I consider more dangerous than a pit bull. We're lucky that these breeds aren't available in large numbers to American thugs.
