I know it may be insane, but I'm thinking of moving to Colorado, Boulder specifically. Do any of you live there and do you think it's possible for a 62-year-old single female Conservative to live happily there? My reasons are that I hear it's beautiful, closer to my family in Los Angeles (but I don't want to live in Calif), has seasons and is a place I haven't lived before. I want to start over in a new place. Unfortunately it's a nest of libs, but where isn't? Just wondering - SOMEONE out there in Freeperland must live there! Thanks in advance for your thoughts and info.
The city is filled with people who didn’t support Mitt.
Always look on the bright side of life...
These are people who constantly brag about their intellect, how "bright" they are, and yet are the first to claim they never have needed high school algebra. They can't change a tire, or replace a light bulb. Logical thought is sneered at. Keep this in mind, and you will do well.
I speak as a resident of Portland, Oregon, the hippie capital of the US.
Hmmm- I’ll do that!
HA! Speaking of Californication, screw the front range. Far as I'm concerned, they can slide into the ocean WITH California (if only). The front range (eastern CO) is a den of thieving, rotten, disgusting, worthless liberals. Sure, there are pockets, but who wants to live surrounded by the enemy?
I like Ft. Collins.
Look into Buena Vista, CO. Lived there for a few years and it was much better than any big city in CO.
Ouray is one of the most beautiful parts of the state. It certainly deserves the “Little Switzerland” moniker. Even more fun is the road out of Ouray, to the west, over Imogene Pass (14,000+ feet elevation @ the summit) and then down into Telluride. A drive from semi-arid high desert, through sub-alpine flora and through almost 200 years of mining history. Of course, 4x4 is a must, but well worth it. It don’t get better.
“Nope - I dont smoke weed.”
Want to learn? I was always told you could take the boy out of the city, but you cannot take the city out of the boy. You go to Boulder, the Berzerkly might ooze out of you..
That would leave a mess and there would be no conservatives around to rescue you.
Kenda is NOT from Boulder——he’s from Colorado Springs.
.
I seem to remember Rush holding an event there.
Dan’s Bake Sale in Fort Collins. 1992, I think. A bunch of us drove up from Denver to see Rush.
My son and his family also live in Louisville. Until last year they were in family grad student housing just off Arapahoe and close to all the downtown area. It is mostly nice except for the bums that hang around the parks.
The area is beautiful. Lots of activities and interesting people (yes crazies as well, so you should have lots of clients). Just be aware that with so many university and government employees it will always be left leaning.
No, definitely wouldn’t want to learn...smoked it in Berzerkely and didn’t like it, and now it’s even stronger - I’d freak out like old Mo Dowd did!
Best wishes to you.
I LOVE Fort Collins. But if you want to play that whole “work in Boulder but don’t live there” game, the hour commute to Ft Fun gets old after a while (ask me how I know) that is the only reason I bring up places like Erie and Longmont.
I never claimed he was from Boulder. I simply said he was the man!
Ooops” :-)
I love the show-—he’s quite a guy.
.
I have to relocate and have a chance to go wherever I want but I like Idaho and Wyoming. I would visit Colorado cities but live in the country. Just have 4 wheel drive.
Yes, it’s beautiful.
It’s also a nest of communists, not liberals.
Thank you very much!
Live in Estes Park or Lyons. If you HAVE to live in Boulder county, live in Louisville or Superior instead.
