At first, I thought the baby boy was going to be the star of this show
then Dad pans the camera over to the curious cat, and as soon as he looks at himself in the mirror, I was done for.

He’s 16, two years older than Rocky was when he was diagnosed,
and his renal failure is just in the very early stages.
There is a good chance that he will last at least three more years.
And thank you for the well wishes, my friend.

This is Lucas Prince of Darkness sending me a kitty kiss in hopes of being picked up and cuddled:
Being cuddled and showing off his humongous claws:
Believe it or not, there are three cats on the comfy chair. Look veeeerrry carefully to the right
of Slinker (tabby - RIP) and Rocket (tuxedo - RIP) and you will see Lucas's eye and ear:
This is the former Miss Hissy Slashy, now Bobbie AKA Miss Purry Petme, showing off her
green eyes. They sometimes turn blue. I haven't been able to snap a pic of them, but they do
turn blue, in spite of the "fact" that black cats can't have blue eyes.
This is Hubby's ideal cat, black with yellow eyes. Her name is Shadow because she sauntered
into our yard one day and shadowed me around every time I went outdoors. Of course, we
adopted her. She's a little weird, but very sweet kitty
'Nuff cats, Perdogg? I have more... but they're all waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.

I have a 15 year old in the early stages of kidney failure. What is Real Water? I’ve never heard of it. I used sub Qs on one of my other cats but definitely not one of my favorite things to do (gave tested and gave insulin tone of my other cats for years....that was easy!).

Thank you. He’s a sweetie pie, that’s for sure. Bossy sometimes, but resigned to his fate of being
booted off my chair when I return to it after getting up to work on the laundry or other things.
And by “booted off” I mean that I gently pick him up, cuddle him until he purrs, and place him
gently on the floor with his face toward the food bowl, preferably filled with tuna and cheese.
Poor guy has a tough life, I’ll tell you what. ;-)

Where to Find Real Water (Link opens in a new tab)
Affinity's Real Water is alkalized, antioxidant water with stabilized negative (-) ions for ultra cellular hydration.
Our vet told us my Rocket was on death's door when he was 14 years old. His kidneys were failing, and he wasn't going to make it.
We took him home, and I mentioned to some FReeper friends that he was dying, but FReeper Salamander recommended Real Water.
We told our vet about it, and he said it was a good idea to keep him on that instead of RO or distilled water, so we did.
The deterioration of his kidneys was slowed down and finally halted.
But even on Real Water, his kidneys slowly deteriorated, and he passed away when he was 17 on August 4, 2012.
We are forever grateful to Salamander for those three extra years that we had with my Rocket, the bestest cat who ever was.
