FULL TITLE: l them I finished strong': Last words of Texas woman, 38, executed for starving girlfriend's 9-year-old son to death
A Texas woman was executed this evening, after spending the last eight years on death row for the murder of her girlfriend's son a decade ago.
Lisa Ann Coleman, 38, of Arlington, Texas, was found guilty of capital murder in the death of 9-year-old Davontae Williams, who had been beaten and bound, and whose body bore more than 250 scars when officials discovered him on July 26, 2004.
'What shes really guilty of is being a black lesbian,' Stickels said.
'Her sexual orientation played a role in the state choosing to seek the death penalty and in her getting the death penalty.

No, I didn’t think you said that. Your comment, however, reminded my of one of my pet peeve hypocrisies of libs. Blacks are obviously being discriminated against because of disproportionate incarceration rates, but men?? [crickets]
He will indeed......if they have repented or have confessed their guilt...that's what Jesus does...
LOL! No honor among carpet munchers apparently.
i never mentioned men’s rates.
i said i wanted women’s rates to reflect the severity of their crimes. they don’t. i wish they got the same harsh sentences that men do. they do not. different sex organs shouldn’t matter one bit when murder is the crime.
and if it’s self defense it isn’t murder so that’s not an excuse either.
Wrong moron. What she was REALLY guilty of was starving a 9 year old boy to death.
AND beating and torturing him. Beast!
to be more accurate i didn’t mention men’s rates in terms that i wished they got lighter sentences b/c women do. i don’t want that. i want women murderers to go on death row and actually be executed at the same rates as male murderers. should be no difference, gender is irrelevant.
I’m not talking about anything you said to begin with. Your post reminded me of a related issue I thought you might find to be of interest and might share my opinion about. I don’t know how to convey that any more clearly.
sorry, reread it and can see what you are saying.
“i want women murderers to go on death row and actually be executed at the same rates as male murderers.”
That only depends on if that state in which the crime happened even has the death penalty. Texas is one of few that still has it.
It’s cool, no worries!
This case never got and still won't get the play that the Footballer child abuse story is getting this month.
Doesn’t sound like the starvation was the only harm...
“who had been beaten and bound, and whose body bore more than 250 scars when officials discovered him on July 26, 2004.”
Hillary Clinton laughed about a child rapist getting away with it.
Yeah, right, whatever, your freak "client" is burning now.
BYE!
.
I think that this lawyer may be a follower of Peter Singer who thinks that personhood is to be defined by the wishes of the parent.
So the mother of this boy was just having an abortion 9 years after the boy was born.
The black lesbian was just doing what abortion doctors do every day. So why should she be executed?
“Put the Mooch in charge of the prison menu!”
That is a great idea. She shouldn’t be allowed to experiment on innocent school kids or even the normal ones.
this woman sounds like she had not even a foggy concept of remorse. She just had to show off to the very end how “tough” and “strong” she was. Sounds completely amoral, but how could a moral person do that to a child?
I’m with you. That is the dumbest statement ever! You starve and beat a child to death, you deserve the death penalty no matter if you’re black or white or purple and whether you’re lesbian, straight or transgendered!
Amazing! He was seen alive before he was murdered!
yes, that’s a given. the point is equal sentencing without regard to gender.
