BlackElk: “Some conservatives have to put a stop to the sunshine and lollipops and everyone gets a unicorn bs that is spread by the compulsive GOP love slaves for whom any old POS is good enough so long as it has the R tattoo on its forehead.”
You keep making false claims and throwing insults. Show me anywhere in this thread where anyone claimed voting for the GOPe can be characterized as all “sunshine and lollipops?” If your arguments are solid, there’s absolutely zero reason to demean or misrepresent the other side’s points.
Conservative: “Do I sit it out while evil reigns or do I vote for a lesser evil to try to slow the damage?” That is probably a reasonable question for millions of conservative voters. Disagree if you want but please try to show a modicum of civility for other people! Please!
As to the paragraph you quoted, you and I disagree strongly. I stand behind every word. You voted for Romney, despite his record on baby killing, "gay""everything," gun grabbing, "health care," and dozens of other issues. I did not. That ideological difference is is wide as the Pacific Ocean and determined the respective outcomes.
I voted for Eternal Vigilance who graciously offered me a quite respectable alternative and a very clear conscience as an American and as a Catholic. EV is a knowledgeable patriot and a principled Evangelical Christian in agreement with my Church and vice versa on soooo many relevant issues despite some religious differences which we have never found necessary to hash out.
There is nothing false about my observations. I am not throwing insults. If I were throwing insults, trust me, any target would not be left in doubt. You are trying to brand yourself as having suffered anguish in finally deciding to vote for Myth Romney in a very close call. I don't find that very credible. I think your vote was rather predetermined. Also every comment is not necessarily aimed at you personally. I am perfectly capable of ignoring criticism and so are you.
The question that you pose in the last paragraph is sheer nonsense. It is not really a question at all. It is begging the question by loading up the alleged question with modifiers that dictate the outcome. An equivalent would be: Do I refuse to sin (thereby respecting and accepting the loving sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross in atonement for my sins and those of others) by refusing to vote for either major party baby killer? Or do I parse their respective records for a sliver of lesser evil here or there no matter how speculative or irrelevant and weigh the infinitesimal differences in the balance?
You apparently are made uncomfortable by the colorfulness of my writing style. I am not going to change it. Eternal Vigilance convinced me right on this web site after 2008 that he was right and I was wrong when taking the position you now take. If you think you can change me back into a reflexive GOP voter, good luck! You are welcome to try.
As to your final question in your #711, look at your own tagline and at your very fine homepage. The answers are there.
