Is it a coincidence that the moon God was named “Sin”?

Do you suppose this cult was so bad they named sin after Sin?

That has been my theory for awhile.

Our word for sinning came from ancient Moon God practices.

Interesting that Abraham left UR which was a moon worshipping region.

His people then moved to a sun worshipping region (Egypt). Then they found I AM.

Possibly, but there was a Wilderness of Sin in the Bible:

It’s where the Israelites first ate manna from Heaven, most likely in the Sinai peninsula.

Sin was the name of a widespread moon god of the heathen, even up to the time of Mohammed..................

Here’s and interesting bit:

From Wiki:

Sin had a beard made of lapis lazuli and rode on a winged bull. The bull was one of his symbols, through his father, Enlil, “Bull of Heaven”, along with the crescent and the tripod (which may be a lamp-stand)

The Israelites made a ‘Golden Calf’ in the desert while waiting for Moses to come down from the mountain, and we all know how that ended up...............
