It’s an uninformed, uneducated, idiotic opinion piece.

In contrast, anyone paying attention to the Lebanese moderates rising up and throwing out Hezbollah’s rule of Beirut (the Cedar Revolution) and then watching Egypt’s 80+ million moderates throw out the radical Muslim Brotherhood would realize an entirely more worldly and realistic view.

So, why is Hezbollah still firmly ensconced in Lebanon and putting Lebanese in danger by attacking Israel?

Nonsense - it is based on the educated study of the actual teachings of Islam the the Koran. You merely reference the difference between various factional Islamic political strategies, especially over the use of taqqiya. But they all have the same ultimate goal, and none of them eliminate the atrocities of religious murder, genital mutilation, slavery or jihad in fundamental intent.

You are misinformed, the piece of the puzzle you missed is that Mohamad stated that there is only one true Islam, his. All other branches of Islam are apostates and must be killed. This set all branches of Islam at odds.

They were not fighting for ‘moderation’, but survival. Islam, like a biker bar respects only strength. If any sect succeeds in convincing the others by their strength that they are the prophesied final Caliphate, you will see Islam reach ‘critical mass’. The 90 % of ‘moderates’ will become radicalized almost overnight.

Having lived amongst Muslims for a decade, I know of what I speak.

“Lebanese moderates rising up and throwing out Hezbollah’s rule of Beirut (the Cedar Revolution) “

That uprising was about Syria’s rule over Lebanon, not a direct kicking out of Hezbollah by so-called moderates.

Not to mention, if “moderate muslims” didn’t like the radicals then why haven’t those in Gaza kicked out Hamas?

"Egypt’s 80+ million moderates throw out the radical Muslim Brotherhood "

They tossed out the MB, but they kept Sharia law. Muslims consider Sharia as fair. They claim women shall be equals under their constitution but Sharia is considered equality to women.

Egypt's Constitution of 2014: "Islam is the religion of the state and Arabic its official language. Principles of Islamic Sharia are the principal source of legislation.

Al-Azhar is an encompassing independent Islamic institution, with exclusive autonomy over its own affairs, responsible for preaching Islam, theology and the Arabic language in Egypt and the world. Al-Azhar Senior Scholars are to be consulted in matters pertaining to Islamic law.

The principles of Islamic Sharia include general evidence, foundational rules, rules of jurisprudence, and credible sources accepted in Sunni doctrines and by the larger community. "

So, once again we have radical islam in Egypt. Whatever these "scholars" think shall be law.
