Looking at the video, I don’t think the receiver would have made it back for the ball. That was a badly off-target throw.

I agree, the ball was behind him and he was back on his heels as he tried to reverse direction.

Timing is everything. Had the receiver not been pushed down, it may have been an incomplete, but not an interception.............
