It’s humor that drives radio ratings best. That’s where I’m coming from. I don’t think many people could stand a conservative ‘PBS snooze’.
I’ve listened off and on to talk radio hosts for some time now. They go in phases. I remember when Levin was completely obsessed over his dog that passed away. But now I miss him, tempted to load his show online sometimes.
And Glenn Beck — got a ‘two bit hard sell/reverend rutt’ for about a year or so. I tune in a little now and then, and he sounds like he’s back to having more fun.
Hannity is the most consistent.
As for Rush — he has great moments and great weeks. Then dry spells of subconscious rebellion against ‘news digest’. He frequently compromises and no one is happy when he does. His great days are the best, but his ‘best of’ never does him justice.
I had offered suggestions some time ago and never intended to discuss them again. Well, enough of this. Shutting mouth again.
For what it is worth I think you are on to something regarding the magnetism of humor. Rush has a devastating sense of humor. And that was one thing that people liked about Reagan. He could stick the shiv in with a smile. He knew how to go over the MSM’s head when he needed to and put the liberals in their place with a good dose of humor. They never could figure out what to do with him. Oh, that we had some leaders like him now.
