I would think this would quickly become a kidnap target, similar to what happened to our drone near Iran.
So it needs the following:
- To be hardened against hacking and radio interference, including GPS interference.
- The ability to instantly delete it's software if captured except for the self destruct module.
- The ability to self destruct if captured.
- The ability to identify when other sentry's are threatened and attack their antagonists.

Having the sensors connected to the weapon system seems rather limiting. It seems like you could deploy remote robotic sensors which could detect enemy heat/motion/noise signatures and relay appropriate firing coordinates back to robotic artillery or grenade launchers or 25 mm chain guns or whatever. such a sensor could differentiate between mechanized targets and human targets and communicate to an appropriate weapon system for that matter.
