Back in the late 1940s, the vet in the small town where my wife was born did deliveries when the doc wasn’t available; and the doc would patch up critters when the vet wasn’t available. Nobody worried about it a bit.
...and then there were the guys (all completely non-licensed) in North Carolina back in ‘06 who were doing castrations and testicle replacements out of their house.
