I’m 68 and over the past few years I have noticed the deterioration of my driving skills and I completely agree ... driving tests every few years after 70.
I just hope I’m wise enough to recognize when I should give up my car keys or, at the very least, listen when others tell me it is time.

I've got a whole passle of kids that will be sequencing through their teen driving years starting in a couple of years.
I have been told with some authority, that grandpa won't have to drive again, once they get their licenses. ;)
I think I'll just take them up on that. I hate to drive.

Well,, I am 68 also, 69 in a month. I still go to the go-kart tracks. The thing that bums me out are that the Karts are so slow. My driving skills are fine!

Might have been a mini-stroke which tend to occur as we age even if driving skills are still sharp. Don't know if testing can predict them, probably not. Still, I would imagine more people get killed by teenage drives than old ones. Hard to kill anybody at ten miles an hour(mall speed.)
