A lot of females don’t know how to cook anymore-—they have no interest in doing so. Their mothers never taught them the basics. They’d rather go out to eat or have takeout.

And baking? That’s archaic. /s

I'm happy to say I have three granddaughters loving to cook and try new things....and their boyfriends love it! Oddly enough the guys are cooking WITH them! Something still to be said for a gal who knows how to cook even today I think..though rare.

Both my (adult) daughters are stay at home moms and cook a lot.

They are really outliers among their peer group.

I don’t think “home economics” is taught anymore?

But why pick on JUST females? Males should know the basics too. God gave them two hands as well. Certainly well enough to whip up a burger. Most of the males that cook do a good job of it too. EVERYONE should know the basics.
