FULL TITLE: Michael Sam was dropped by the NFL because 'no one wants the distraction', claims Buffalo Bills star as gay football player tweets upbeat message
Michael Sam is no longer attached to an NFL team and none of them appear to want to pick him up because his sexual orientation causes too much distraction, claims a Buffalo Bills star.
Offensive lineman Eric Wood goes on, more specifically, to blame the media for focusing on the personal life of the NFL's first openly gay draft pick.
'Blame that on espn,' Wood tweeted in response to Sam's inability to find an NFL home. 'No one wants the distraction.'
Wood's comment came after sports commentator Ross Tucker publicly wondered on Twitter why 'Michael Sam performed much better than most expected and still isn't even on a practice squad?'

No, because the Rams have probably the deepest defensive line in the NFL and Sam got outplayed (it wasn’t even close) by an undrafted free agent named Westbrooks. Westbrooks can play both DE and DT, and tore it up in camp and preseason games.
uhhhh, maybe he just sucks and doesn’t measure up to professional play...
(I think I got enough double entendre’s in there....)
If all NFL players were gay, then at the end of the regular season we`d have the NFL GAYOFFS.
Sohhhh, yer saying he was a “loose” cannon?
Maybe ESPN, which seemed to really support Sam will give him a TV
Show on their Network. And observe their ratings tank.
That is funny in multiple ways!
Oh, those Ram-butt-gay jokes.....can’t make this
stuff up!
Well, that’ll leave him with a sore ass.
‘no one wants the distraction’ of how bad a player he is. Gay-ness aside he sucks.
Michael Sam was dropped by the NFL because.... he just wasn’t very good.
I have to agree, he was no Randy Moss.
finally some common sense. I may start watching the NFL again.
If Michael Jordan was gay, any team in the NBA would have been thrilled to have him on their roster regardless of his sexual orientation simply due to his playing ability.
But, no, emotional know it alls (mostly women who think they know what's best for just about every and any situation but there are plenty of guys out there just as arrogant) will demand “fairness” and attempt to force their emotional beliefs upon the rest of us since they know better than “old fashioned” people who don't understand modern society.
The way professional sports have been going, I would think the actual game has become the ‘distraction.’
How many straight guys got dropped from the Rams?
No one’s fussing about them, we just assume they weren’t good enough to make the team.
And we don’t know what they do with their genitalia - as it should be.
Sam’s absence removes the need for a head coach.
It has nothing to do with the showers, it has to do with being too small and too weak.
And we dont WANT TO know what they do with their genitalia - as it should be. ——There fixed it!!
Michael Sam was cut by the Rams because he can’t play linebacker, he’s too small too play the run and his only viable skill is rushing the passer. So he’s a one-dimensional defensive end trying to find a spot on a team which has the best defensive line in the league. He got cut because the Rams had better alternatives. He might get claimed by some team without so much talent on the defensive line as a 3rd down pass rushing DE.
“Blame that on ESPN...”
Nope, I blame it on Sams. Maybe he should have just played football and not tried to make a “statement”. If not for that ESPN would never have had a story to publicize. Of course if he had just tried to play ball and failed...no one would even know the guy’s name outside of family and friends.
I’m just thankful that Jerruh didn’t bring him to Dallas. The Cowboys have enough problems without this distraction.
“Maybe ESPN, which seemed to really support Sam will give
him a TV Show on their Network. And observe their ratings
tank.”
Good idea!
Or, what about the ESPNLGBT Network?
Ain’t that worth a subscription!
