I went outside tonight around 08:15 PM PDT And looked to the North/Northeast and noticed a bright orange object coming in from that direction to the SW and curving slightly towards South. It was moving pretty fast and didn't have a tail and I didn't think much of it as I see a lot of aircraft in this area heading towards the local airstrip in Carlsbad or further south towards San Diego.
It did not have a tail/trail, and was not on a path typical of shooting star nor orbital debris. After about 30 seconds of my noticing it the object went fully dark and was no longer observable.
Just wondering if anyone else had observed this interesting phenomenon and although I am typically loathe to post anything such as this, it did pique my curiosity.
Don’t worry about it.
Are you thinking it’s something other worldly? You’re not saying that, are you?
I don’t believe in UFO ET’s and Art Bell stuff.
One time I and a friend were driving up through AZ from Phoenix to the 40 at night and saw a light that was a UFO in that we really couldn’t figure out what it was.
But I don’t chalk it up to any ET or other Art Bell type nonsense.
I figure it’s something being tested out from an Air Force base.
Yours could be the same or it could be atmospheric or meteor.
I have seen a few odd flying objects. Interesting but I doubt they are flying saucers. the first time I was riding in a car with six other boys and I noticed a strange thing floating in the air.
I pointed at it and said “Look at that strange buzzard”. Then the guy next to me said “that is no buzzard, that is a ufo” We all glanced at it then and it now appeared to be a golden globe. We went behind some trees and when we got in the clear again and it was only a few seconds, it was gone.
Another time I was at my parents place near the edge of the Eglin AFB reservation. It was late in the evening, nearly dark and I saw an unusually shaped aircraft. It actually looked like the models of the stealth aircraft which in the end looked nothing like it. they had rounded wings and body and it was quiet.
I have never seen another aircraft which looked like it.
That first sighting, I am convinced was a large weather balloon.
Perhaps, but I would have expected a bright white light instead of what seemed to be a bright orange light that reminded me more of Mars but moving in an arc very quickly and then fading to nothing with no tail that I could see.
He looks very angry. Very angry indeed.
Google. “Double moon.”
There was a story that I didn’t read, but I thought it was about the police having to explain sightings in the Oceanside area.
If I would be one to venture a wild guess, I would think it could be something returning from orbit and heading eventually towards a landing in an area somewhere withing the western/southern states. It was very high up from my viewpoint and went dark high up as well.
I’m absolutely positive it was not a weather balloon. Such an object would not have been moving at such a very high velocity as what I observed.
I saw what looked like a bright orange ball of light noiselessly floating through the clear sky once. The only thing I could think was “UFO”. The news the next day said a Russian satellite had de-orbited at about the same place and time I saw it.
Not a chance that this was a “double moon”.
Here it is.

I am very close to Oceanside, and in fact it is only a handful of miles from my location (Vista).
It sounds like a satellite. I see them quite often, and when they drop into the earth shadow, they just disappear.
Have you done any mescalin in the last 48 hrs?
That’s roughly the time when the sun’s below the horizon, but still illuminating stuff at altitude. Space station perhaps?
Like space junk?
Something similar to what G Larry talked about in 14?
That explains it.
