A day after Michael Sam was released by the St. Louis Rams, he remained unclaimed by any other NFL team.
Under the leagues waiver process, any team could have claimed him for its 53-player final roster, but none has done so. That means that Sam, the 249th pick in the seventh round of the NFL draft, is now free to sign on as a practice-squad player with any team, although the Rams would seem to be the most likely to add him to the 10-player practice squad. Even if he does sign with the Rams, itll be tough for him to get onto the field, though, given the teams depth on the defensive line. Still, Sam, trying to be the first openly gay player on an NFL regular-season roster, made a favorable impression on the Rams.

That raises an interesting question:
Does Sam prefer getting the quarterback, the halfback or the fullback?
But he knew that from the beginning. And so did almost everyone else. He wasn’t chosen til the last round of the draft, many often said he just wasn’t that good, so why is anyone surprised? They only chose him to make a statement, but once he showed he wasn’t up to it, everyone knew what would happen next.
If he hadn’t come out as queer, almost no one outside his family, hometown and college would have ever heard of his effort and failure. You have to wonder if preventing locker room drama was a key factor, or if everyone who was not cut was really better.
Cool.

Great Movie.
Hard to believe it’s been 35 years since it came out. (No pun intended.)
“Hell probably get picked up by the Rams for their 10 man practice team. He already knows their system and the Rams are one of a limited number of teams who run a 3-4 defensive scheme that would utilize a player like Sam.”
Rams play a 4-3 and have the best and deepest DL in the NFL
The Rams already have 8 players on their PS and only 2 QB’s on the active roster, so IDK if the Rams will pick up Sam for the PS
Now I’m hearing the Rams will not have him on the PS. I think right after they drafted him and they saw how he reacted, they knew they stepped in it, and just wanted to figure out how the get out of that mess with as much grace as possible.
Sorry, got it backwards. But that is it. I am only going on the speculation I heard on the sports shows this morning.
A nation of homophobes.......
“...A nation of homophobes... ..”
Versus 3% that are heterophobes.
Now now, we don’t need to get into the “_______-packers” jokes do we? No call for that kind of stuff is there?
Wrong guy try “Rocklobster”. My crack was about the Vikqueens. Rxlob did the “_____-packers” bit.
