There used to be an airstrip at Fort Meade, Maryland which was crossed by roads at either end...whenever small aircraft were using it, gates would lower and red lights would flash...just like a railroad crossing. As soon as the plane was past, gates would rise, and you were on your way. It was pretty cool when I was a kid.

Very cool. Another great abstract method is to shoot into a shallow glass dish filled with water and some vegetable oil. Put some colored paper or newspaper under it and backlight it.

#32 is done by Loren Stump. I have taken his Murrini class, great fun. Be prepared to stay very late each night.

I actually have seen a setting solar eclipse... I was in New Mexico in May of 2012 for work and there was an annular solar eclipse as the sun was setting. Sadly the cell phone photos I have did it no justice. It had just past the maximum eclipse and as the sun set it resembled 2 horns sticking above the horizon. I went and sat on the sand dunes south of Jal for the whole thing... makes one feel quite small in the universe.

Kai Tak. They closed it. I saw video of a crosswind landing at Kai Tak with a 747-400. It set my stomach to churning and I was just watching it.
