Glenn Beck was bashing Americans opposed to illegal immigration, decrying partisan politics, and positioning himself toward the center just as he was reportedly trying to strike a deal to get his programming on CNN.
CNN's Brian Stelter reported that "the idea fizzled fast and talks aren't expected to resume." CNN and HLN are expected to lay off at least 550 more people in what is being called another "bloodbath," and Beck was reportedly trying to get on the HLN network, where he got his first break in cable television.
Stelter, who is one of the best-sourced reporters in the television industry and made a name for himself out-scooping more established mainstream media reporters, claimed he had no knowledge of the negotiations whatsoever when he unusually gave Beck two Sundays worth of relatively good PR, showcasing Beck's Texas offices and future plans.
During that interview, Stelter said industry sources have said that major cable networks are reluctant to pick up Beck's network because "there's no other must-see TV on the channel." However, Stelter's line of questioning revealed that industry executives may be hesitant to make deals with someone who once referred to President Barack Obama as a racist and accused Obama of having problems with white people.
Stelter suggested that Beck was responsible for inflaming much of the polarization he now decries during his mainstream media appearances and told him that many Americans remember Beck for "saying on [Fox News] that President Obama is a racist." Beck said he regretted making the comment and replied, "we all live and learn."
Stelter also praised Beck for how "you evolve your views" and "change your mind" on issues, and Beck mentioned that he does so after various "pivot points……

“Rush has never done anything quite so transparently meretricious. He has just gotten more and more bland, uninteresting, and irrelevant.”
Rush was a great entertainer. Today he is not entertaining. It feels like he no longer does any show prep. He walks into the studio, takes a stack of papers, breezes through them, and tries to fill three hours with whatever comes into his head. His long winded commentaries on the NFL have made me stop listening. It could be he’s bored or someone’s gotten to him. Like Obama he’s living the good life and has decided to enjoy it for as long as it lasts.

Stelter’s a punk who hid his identify while he was in college when he created a blog that became TVNewser. He unveiled himself in order to then get a cushy job, which he did at the New York Slimes. It lead to him moving on to CNN this year.
Correction: meant identity no0t identify. I wrote too fast without proofreading.
Hmmm. Could be.
If he is crying all the way to the bank, why does he want a CNN/HLN
Show? Those two networks are just about defunct.
I stopped listening to Beck a while back. I may drop my satellite radio since there is nothing decent in that time slot in the morning.
Rush was right on two weeks ago when he went over how the media destroyed The Iraq War and Bush for 5 or 6 years in order to ensure a democrat won in 2008. And how Obama is worse and now is forcing Iraq to go to bad people and has no choice but to attack. It was one of the best shows I have heard him do in a while.
I have to say the same abt the NFL stuff. My eyes glaze over.
Rush, I’m gonna have to change my monicker if you don’t stay on topic!
Feel free to ask him and be sure to let us all know what he says.
I’ve never tried to gripe to Rush by e-mail, but I am definitely one of those “stick-to-the-issues” people Rush talks about—the ones who complain whenever he spends a whole hour on football, or golf, or the famous people he hung out with last weekend.
Now, I’m about a 95% former Rush listener. The longer Rush refused—with his tens of million$!!!—to investigate or even broach the subject of “Obama”’s almost-certain illegal alien status, the less interested I got.
You’re absolutely right. Rush is part of the “system,” pretending to be a transgressor.
No. Glenn Beck was on CNN once. His show was on HLN but he would go on as a guest or guest host on CNN between 06 and 09. He left to Fox News when he got an offer he couldn’t refuse. He then left to created GBTV which became The Blaze. Many of his own people go on Fox News as guests.
But what was going to happen was that HLN was in talks with The Blaze to have it be sold to them. If that happened HLN is no more and The Blaze would take over the signal. But The wrap said Mercury One and Glenn Beck were far apart with CNN on a deal. He sent them two proposals and was rejected. Seems he didn’t like CNN’s terms.
Vice got in on talks to buy out HLN as well. But that negotiation also stalled.
When I I see him at the soup line, I’ll ask him.
HLN SUCKS. Biggest mistake ever made. It’s utterly ‘tabloid’.
If what you posted is true, the value of his empire will take a big hit.
His conservative supporters have either left or will soon depart.
And we all know liberals don’t pay for anything.
So market is he left with?
he’s just too unpredictable to be on CNN air. they’d have to use a 7 sec delay just like Ron McClean does with Don Cherry on HNIC.
He never said that on Fox News. Glenn Beck said it a interview nobody saw online at CBS.com to Katie Couric. Couric wanted to have him on and basically groveled for him to go on her online interview show in 2010. He made the Obama is racist comments in that interview. He apologized for the comments on his show and to The New York Magazine when they asked him about it in 2012.
He’ll be competing with the Alex Jones crowd. And they HATE Beck.
Well, this explains Becks lurch to the left...and his Bundy statement, teddy bears to the illegals...etc, etc.
I will now have DISH remove TheBlaze from my lineup. I’ve removed all other things Beck, from my emails, etc. He should team up with *Rev* Al.
CNN can have him :(
You can always tell the quality of the whore by the grade of customer they pursue.
