Press Release FAA StatementNew Notice to Airmen Issued for Syria
For Immediate Release

The Federal Aviation Administration today issued a new Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) restricting U.S. operators from flying in the Damascus Flight Information Region, which includes all of Syria. This replaces the current NOTAM in place that strongly advises U.S. operators against flying in that airspace and requires them to contact the FAA before they operate in that airspace. Based on an updated assessment of the risk associated with such operations and the lack of any requests from operators wishing to fly in this airspace, we believe it prudent to prohibit U.S. operators from flying into, out of, and over Syria. The ongoing armed conflict and volatile security environment in Syria poses a serious potential threat to civil aviation. Armed extremist groups in Syria are known to be equipped with a variety of anti-aircraft weapons which have the capability to threaten civilian aircraft. Opposition groups have successfully shot down Syrian military aircraft using these anti-aircraft weapon systems during the course of the conflict. Opposition elements have previously warned civilian air carriers against providing service to Syria. Due to the presence of anti-aircraft weapons among the extremist groups and ongoing fighting in various locations throughout Syria, there is a continuing significant potential threat to civil aviation operating in Syrian airspace.
The new NOTAM supersedes previous FAA guidance for this airspace....

But it’s still fine to pick up passengers from West Africa.
Yep
Could this have something to do with Barry’s return? (other than the obvious stoking of the racial fires?)
Who wrote this?
Hate those flying carriers.
Nothing good will come of this./s
I saw a carrier fly on The Avengers.
This has something to do with those thousands of missing MANPADS from Benghazi.
I ask the FAA: What difference, at this point, does it make?
The first part was me. Darn Bloomberg can’t post. Then I searched the FAA and posted their notice.
I still can’t post after 14 years. One of the reasons that I am NOT a member of the Royal Order of the Freeperhood.
I have never seen the Avengers. Did I miss anything good?
Could be right. Who knows with this Administration?
We have carriers that can fly now? I bet the new Chinese carriers can’t do that. :)
I liked it. If you like Marvel comic movies it’s one of the best.
I haven’t seen that many Marvel character movies. Maybe I’ll check it out. Thanks :)
Aircraft carriers can fly?
I guess I haven’t been paying attention.
Still, 110,000 tons at 37,000 feet must be a spectacle.
What’s the takeoff speed for a Nimitz class carrier?
Indeed. After a diet-Dr.Pepper, it’s quite the sight.
That is because Obastard has armed the rebels and terrorists with surface to air missiles.
