Local markets know their local customersthats how they stay in business.
Ferguson Market & Liquor in the small town of Ferguson, Missouri is no different. In the case of this local market, fear of being murdered by their customers drives their business decisionsincluding deciding to not report being robbed to the police.
Likewise the Ferguson police decision to withhold for nearly a week the name of the police officer they say shot Michael Brown, Darren Wilson, in order to give him time to go in to hiding from the Ferguson lynch mob
KDSK of St. Louis reported an attorney for the owners of the market held a press conference Friday in which he wanted Ferguson Market & Liquors customers to know that the store did not snitch to the police about Brown robbing the store, nor did they offer the stores surveillance video of the robbery to police.
The Washington Post reported Sunday that the store manager is terrified of being murdered by the stores customers.
The convenience store where the robbery took place was boarded up, but open for business on Friday. A store manager, who declined to give his name, said he fears for his life and pleaded with reporters not to suggest that he called police.
Its very dangerous, he said. They kill us if they think we are responsible. People dont understand that.

“We’re no snitches!” The Ferguson Market and Liquor
There’s a real profile in courage all right.
Koreans would be sporting headbands and scout rifles.
So any thug who comes into their store, from now on, doesn’t have to worry about the police being called if they’re caught taking their protection services out in trade? Incredible. Nuke them from space.
bttt
A Korean neighbor of mine owned a grocery store in Baltimore city and must have worked 80- 100 hours a week. When I asked him why he worked so much he said he wanted to make enough money so he could sell the business and retire before he got killed. That made sense to me.
During the Watts race riots in Los Angeles, I will NEVER forget the images of Korean men on the roofs of their businesses, with rifles, guarding their livelihoods and themselves.
I didn't blame them ONE bit. It is, in fact, very American of them to get out there and defend themselves and their livelihood with what those rioters UNDERSTAND. The rioters LEFT those places alone.
Ferguson: Watts redux.
*****Was his store looted a few days later?****
Oh, yeah...
“The convenience store where the robbery took place was boarded up, but open for business on Friday. A store manager, who declined to give his name, said he fears for his life and pleaded with reporters not to suggest that he called police.
““It’s very dangerous,” he said. “They kill us if they think we are responsible. People don’t understand that.””
He's right. I DON'T understand it. If you operate a high risk business like this where you must tolerate a theft or a beat-down once in awhile, then something's wrong with you.
