The sexuality of fan favorite Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reedus) has long been a source of speculation for Walking Dead fans, and in an interview with comicbook.com, series creator Robert Kirkman addressed the question directly. When asked whether Daryl's being homosexual was a possibility they had considered, Kirkman said, All I can say is that its been discussed. We have very specific ideas about Daryls sexuality (or the seeming lack thereof), and if theres ever a quiet period in the show where hes not consistently distracted by crossbowing
well tackle it in the show. The interviewer followed up by asking whether AMC would be okay with Daryl being gay, to which Kirkman responded, For the record, they absolutely would. Judging by the season-five trailer there aren't a lot of quiet periods in our future (couldn't they have addressed this when we were hanging out at that damn farmhouse?), but hey, you never know.
You’re absolutely right! These Hollywood types seem to think that the 98% per cent of us, who are not homosexual, have nothing better to do than obsess about homo-sex! You’re right if they persist, I’ll stop watching the show, period!
The Deliverance hillbilly was killed by an arrow. Wasn’t a crossbow, but...close enough.
Is there anyone in showbiz today who *isn’t* a misfit of some sort??????
Ha! Very true.
How to Kill a Successful TV Franchise 101.
They’re already suffocating it with all their hand-wringing angst claptrap. This would end it overnight.
Robert Rogers didn’t mince words...”An aberration...a sodomite.”
You know AMC is currently re-running the series, right? I’m DVRing the entire thing this time.
BTW, speaking of “Torchwood”, I’ve only watched a little of that show here and there, and I happened to have it on this morning. I never realized that the actor who plays Major Hewlett on TURN was a Torchwood regular.
I most certainly do respect that. However, I would ask, then, why bother commenting on something you yourself have admitted to knowing nothing about? It's kinda like those libertarian debates I've had with you in the past. You clearly know nothing about the issue, yet you feel confident in injecting that ignorance into a debate. Troll much?
I commented on an episode I did watch
Who cares?
Maybe he’s a necrophiliac.
Another reason for him to rescue Beth.
Agreed. Daryl Dixon is the action hero, go-to guy. He hasn’t had many opportunities for romance, but he’s been kind to Carol trying to save her daughter and then protecting Beth.
He may be a bad-arse, but he’s also kind and considerate in a way Meryl wasn’t.
They can give him a love interest at some point, but it can’t be another guy and fit with the archetype.
The zombie apocalypse does raise some interesting potential in that regard.
Especially if you have measures to prevent being bitten.
Is that the dark haired girl going with Glenn?
Not the psychotic ones, they’ll kill more people than they’ll birth. They did a pretty solid job through the season establishing that Lizzy had a couple of screws loose. First we found out she was naming the zombies, and not nicknames like the fans give them, people names. Then we found out she was feeding them, and her feeding of them caused them to accrue to destructive effect on the fence. Then they imply to us that she’s mutilating small animals, so there’s some serious serial killer tendency there. Then she sacrifices her sister to “prove” that zombies are people. In a world without psychiatric hospitals there’s only one way to deal with somebody like Lizzy.
...and that dogs are in charge if they land in a suburb and watch people picking up pooh on walks.
If I was the actor and they did that I would quit and tell them why (probably ending my career in Queerwood).
The Sopranos did actually have a gay character for awhile (Vito Spatafore). He ended up getting whacked as soon as they found he was gay and they could catch up to him.
death of the show if they do this.
