I loved riding in my Dad's Mercury convertible. Every chance I got, I'd stand up (behind the front seats on top of the axle hump) and enjoy the wind blasting into my face at upwards of 70mph. I thought it was awesome!
Today, that would get a parent thrown in jail.
I think this was the same model:
I couldn't have been older than 8 at the time.

Whenever I see these threads I remember riding back from the local public swimming pool with friends...the 6 of us sitting on the back of a flatbed pickup truck, hanging on for dear life and no concerns about being pulled over.
