According to South Yorkshire Police, officers entered property in Sunningdale on Thursday and conducted searches - but the owner was not present at the time and no arrests were made. In a statement, Sir Cliff said: "The allegations are completely false. Up until now I have chosen not to dignify the false allegations with a response, as it would just give them more oxygen. However, the police attended my apartment in Berkshire today without notice - except, it would appear, to the press." The 73-year-old, who is understood to be in Portugal, added: "I am not presently in the UK, but it goes without saying that I will cooperate fully should the police wish to speak to me. ... ....Detective Superintendent Matt Fenwick stressed that the investigation was in its "really early stages" and explained: "A search warrant has been granted after police received an allegation of a sexual nature dating back to the 1980s. This involved a young boy under the age of 16 years."
What did they expect to find - old incriminating laundry left lying around and unwashed for 30+ years?

It looks like if you hate someone and wanted to ruin his life, all you have to do is accuse him of molesting a child. It doesn’t matter how long ago... just accuse him.
That will create a frenzy that will be sure to ruin his life.
