Biology makes a nice, considerate man seem too weak to date. These instincts were formed when men would club other men over the head to steal females from each other. Also, a great deal of sex back then was essentially rape.

A man who wasn't aggressive would not impregnate nearly as many females so aggressiveness was highly selected for. Just like men are blinded by awful women with big butts and big breasts with bodies that accentuate the first two. Aggressive men and shapely women are simply more fertile and that's all that matters in a primitive society.

Most women also like drama and stupid fights. They lose interest in a drama-free man who doesn't care about their squabbles.
