A North Carolina woman who went through the drive-thru at a Morehead City McDonald's reportedly found a swastika drawn in butter on the bun of her chicken sandwich. Charleigh Matice discovered the anti-Semitic symbol when she went to put mayonnaise on her food. Matice went into the restaurant and confronted employees about the offensive emblem. When they offered to replace the sandwich, she asked for her money back instead.
"Is this a joke? Does somebody really think they're funny?" Matice told WCTI. "Many people died because of that symbol and it's not something that should be taken lightly. It's not something that should be thrown around."
The station contacted the McDonald's corporate office about the incident and received a statement from the owner of the Morehead City franchise.
According to the statement from owner Dulcy Purcell, the employee who drew the offensive sign was fired.
"We do not tolerate that kind of behavior at McDonald's, and it's not what we stand for personally as owners," Purcell wrote. "It is about providing the best level of service and care to our customers, and anything less than that is unacceptable to us."
Matice was satisfied with the response and will eat at that McDonald's again.
They can’t even be creative anymore.
Bovine scat.
I DID NOT ask them to ubersize me. This is worst than the time Taco Bell gave me a chalupa with hammer and sickle on the tortilla.
Who the heck examines their bun and looks for an image???
just phoning it in these days
You can find that symbol all over India and Indo-China and has nothing to do with NAZI’s
They probably aren’t being taught about it in school anymore.
Probably gloss over WW2 these days.
We nuked Japan, you know.
Who the heck examines their bun and looks for an image???
The article said she opened the sandwich to add the mayo. Maybe she was checking to see if they spit in it.
Just one of the adult children funnin’ y’all!
How could you miss it when you go to put mayo on the bun, as in the article?
This doesn’t ring true for me.
I look for bugars.
I never noticed any butter on my sandwiches. Ketchup maybe, but not butter. Funny, what if he made a hammer and sickle sign, would anyone complain, even though that symbol cost 5x more lives than the Nazi one? I think the kid played too many MOH games.
The swastika in general, but I think that one is a Nazi swastika.
We nuked Japan, you know................. Wasn’t that after the Nazis bombed Pearl Harbor?
The swastika points to the left in those countries ....
I would be offended, but who could make a hammer and sickle out of butter and ketchup?
No, the Krauts and the Japs were always fair fighters.
The allies were always cruel and bombed indiscriminately.
The nuke was merely deliberate genocide.
...
The Nazi one can be known by its tell-tale being drawn in butter!
