A North Carolina woman who went through the drive-thru at a Morehead City McDonald's reportedly found a swastika drawn in butter on the bun of her chicken sandwich. Charleigh Matice discovered the anti-Semitic symbol when she went to put mayonnaise on her food. Matice went into the restaurant and confronted employees about the offensive emblem. When they offered to replace the sandwich, she asked for her money back instead.
"Is this a joke? Does somebody really think they're funny?" Matice told WCTI. "Many people died because of that symbol and it's not something that should be taken lightly. It's not something that should be thrown around."
The station contacted the McDonald's corporate office about the incident and received a statement from the owner of the Morehead City franchise.
According to the statement from owner Dulcy Purcell, the employee who drew the offensive sign was fired.
"We do not tolerate that kind of behavior at McDonald's, and it's not what we stand for personally as owners," Purcell wrote. "It is about providing the best level of service and care to our customers, and anything less than that is unacceptable to us."
Matice was satisfied with the response and will eat at that McDonald's again.
Some people are just looking for reasons to get offended. I find that so offensive.
Looks more like Mohammed on a horse than anything else.
The Krauts...Sergeant Saunders and Lieutenant Hanley would be proud!
Oh, I'm entirely sure she will.
Rev. Jesse Jackson working the drive-thru these days??
I was going to put ‘examine their bun’ into GOOGLE and see what images I got, but....
Obama later this week...”the riots were motivated by an offensive image on a bun of the Holy Prophet of Islam.”
She probably did it herself.
The one most shameful thing of WWII is that both sides, not indiscriminately, but deliberately bombed civilians. And no I don't count the Atomic Bombs in that statement.
I wonder if she was Jewish and I wonder what the nationality of the kid that drew the swastika was. Would’ve been a good point to mention in the article.
>> Charleigh Matice .... (ethnic origin?)
Mz. Matice may want to do a bit more research - the swastika is a good luck symbol in some cultures, AND, in the case of the Ashanti culture in Ghana, it represents “greed”. The Ghanians say it represents two conjoined crocodiles (who share one stomach between them) fighting over food that, no matter who eats it, will end up in the same stomach, thereby benefiting them both.
Nothing much of interest.
Now make yourself clear. Add the word "porn" to the query and see what you get!
I have an entire page of Collectibles from Coca Cola from the turn of the century on into the twenties that had swastikas on them. they were mostly watch fobs and bottle openers. The word “swastika” isn’t even German, It’s sanskrit. It means “good-luck piece” or “good luck charm” which is what they were considered. The closest word for the nazi symbol in German is “hackenkreutz” which means “the bent cross”
Never mind, he’s rolling.

Oh plz,, if it passes gas. what difference does it make/
bump
how is that “carved”??
It was not possible to reliably hit anything smaller than a town from high altitude for most of WW2.
It was only beginning to be possible to reliably hit the correct city block by the end of the war.
The only way to reliably hit a building or ship was from low and dangerous altitudes.
The US in daylight could only get about 20% of bombs within a 2,000 foot diameter circle around a target point.
The idea that some cities had no military value is flawed, imo.
Quarterbacking WW2 today is of little value, imo.
I doubt it’s real butter.
