If I recall, Bogut was forced out because KD thought he was too old fashioned.
Also It may have been because KD switched to a talk format and Bogut was not a talker.
Umm...how do I say this....Bogut didn’t exactly leave KD voluntarily. He DID want to do TV and other things but his ratings weren’t stellar. It was kinda, sorta a mutual thing although KD wasn’t going to pay him what he wanted and they wouldn’t give him a TV show.
All of that is my understanding.
Meanwhile WTAE did give him the TV show, “Big Sky Cafe” IIRC. It bombed.
Same thing when he left WSHH. I was producing for him and the news. Also did some air work with him. He wanted more money, Renda said no. Jack walked.
A few years later Renda and Jack got back together and Renda offered Jack an afternoon drive on WJAS. Jack wasn’t happy but took it so he had a venue for his clients. That’s when Jack Wheeler was doing the mornings on WJAS and I was doing his news.
I really enjoyed working with Wheeler although he was tough.
Eventually Bogut kept needling Wheeler to get the morning show back. Wheeler...being Wheeler didn’t care BUT he kept crossing the line on things Renda ordered him not to do. Discuss religion, mock the PC crowd and envirowackos...basically do what he did best...offend people. People hated him, (and me, hehehe) but tuned in to hear what outrageous thing he’d say next.
One day he crossed the line one too many times and he got canned. Bogut moved to the WJAS mornings.
That’s how I remember it.

OK this is kind of complicated and it is what I am hearing from “the grapevine.”
Without getting into studios not ready and such it boils down to these points.
Iorio planned to bring THE REST of the WPGB line up over to WJAS. Premiere Radio Networks.
He already has them on his Warren station.
WPGB wanted to go country but ESPN sports was also a possibility.
When WPGB - Clear Channel - found out the plan started waffling on the change. Country...sports...country sports...dragging their feet to hold up WJAS getting Premiere.
Right now that seems to be the hold up. There may be some animosity toward Q&R but that is pure speculation.
I always thought that Premiere..Beck, Rush, et al...did allow the programming to be on two stations in a market if one was AM and one was FM but that may have changed. I haven’t kept up with that part of the business.
So now it’s a hurry up and wait game to see what WPGB/CC is going to do.
KEEP IN MIND MOST IF NOT ALL OF THIS IS WORD ON THE STREET. Reliable and unreliable sources. It is mostly my take and I COULD BE VERY WRONG. IF I AM I APOLOGIZE.
I am posting because it has been so frustrating without Q&R and I know this group and others want to know.

Also some typos but I am very tired. Babysat 2 sick grandkids yesterday...no sleep then off to work all night and now back home. I left a lot of tech and minor stuff out. Hope that it makes sense. I am not at my best right now, LOL!
Oh, forgot to give th group a heads up. A couple of people from.another station are doing a movie. It’s a take off on Sharknado....CARPNADO. A no budget film.

If you’ve ever been there you can imagine. We use to go couple of times a year to feed the giant carp. It’s not far from the farm.

Just checked Quinn’s Twitter feed. He’s got 3 cockatiels up for adoption (not sure if they’re his or a friend’s). They look cute, but I don’t know if I could warm up to birds.
Thanks for the updates and speculations. I think we all understand that everything is up in the air right now and anything can happen.
We went camping up at Pymatuning when son was small. We fed the carp. Wow! Never seen so many huge fish packed so close together! Son loved feeding the fish! Son will have to take granddaughter up there some day.
I remember going to a young lady’s house to pick her up for a date in 1985 or 86, and found her whole family sitting around the living room watching Big Sky Café.
“Horrific Stinkbomb” does not even begin to describe it.
Has anyone else heard the promos on WPGB today teasing a “big announcement about the future of 104.7” today at 3PM?
Just got to my sons place. Heard on wpgb that all the talkers were going to 1320 am - including BLOOMDADDY?????
Are they serious???
So that means no Q&R???
