I DONT LIKE LONDON, admits Marianne Faithfull in the new issue of MOJO magazine. I come here for promotion and Im asked the most incredible questions. The last time she was here one journalist even had the brass neck to ask her Why exactly did you kill Jim Morrison?

Some of the Doors songs were genius.... Others just plain stunk.
Just my opinion.... Don’t anyone blow a gasket over it.
I am an accomplished working musician and singer who plays at least 5 instruments very well.... So at least it’s a qualified opinion.
Did you ever play the Beatles albums backwards? Don’t know why that just came to mind.
She’s no Yoko. :-)
You can say that again!
I’ve always liked her. I don’t approve of her lifestyle, but... I don’t know. I just like her. I love the Ballad of Lucy Jordan.
Ask her if she knows who killed jimmy Hoffa?
That is a very tragic story. I’m sorry for your loss. To you she will be forever young.
Somewhat offbeat, but I thought interesting movie with Marianne in the lead. Available on Netflix as DVD but not for streaming. She gets into a somewhat unusual profession for a 50 year old widow who needs money for grandson’s medical treatments.

I would rather listen to the Doors than a majority of classic rock artists.
Ahh, that had to suck.
I agree, it was 50/50
I thought he was in Bora-Bora playing gin rummy with Elvis.
I agree so I’ll take some of the arrows with you. I still listen to the Doors quite often.
I play a lot of Doors stuff with my classic rock band but some of their songs I wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole.
Manzarek, Krieger, and Densmore had an incredibly hypnotic groove.
Hypnotic? Sure, maybe if you’re doing psychedelic drugs. Otherwise, a lot of those long ‘hypnotic grooves’ are pretty damn boring. Musically not a lot of anything really going on.
Remember, it’s just my own personal opinion of Morrison and The Doors as a lifelong musician and not meant to put anyone else down for liking them.
Ten-fifteen years ago, I had almost forgotten about Marianne Faithful, when I bought a Christmas album by The Chieftains, and she was featured on one song, “I Saw Three Ships a Sailin’”. I was surprised by her rich, matronly voice, contrasting with the waifish voice of her early years.
Lawrence Welk was a lifetime musician ...He probably didn’t get The Doors , either . LOL !
If 12 minute two chord grooves are your thing then more power to ya’.
I prefer a little more ‘red meat’ in my rock and roll. Think Steely Dan, Bad Co, Lynard Skynnard, The Stones, The Who and of course, Led Zepplin just to name a few.
Lawrence Welk was before my time but nice try at insulting me.
