San Antonio - Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis and two top lieutenants met recently with several San Antonio officials to discuss the potential of moving his NFL team from the Bay Area to the Alamo City, local leaders involved in the talks confirmed Tuesday.

It’s over 100 miles so Jones won’t have veto. He might be able to get enough people to vote no, but he’ll have to wield influence.
I think Jerry holds a lot of influence over other owners.
He may a total cock-up as a GM....But he didn’t make his money by being stupid.
He’s generally considered the leader of the “rich owner” block (as opposed to the “not as rich as the other owners” block), but that block’s pretty small and loses the CBA fight almost every year. Just given the fact that he’s almost always against the current CBA and it passes anyway makes me think he won’t be able to stop a move to SA.
“Isnt the owner of this team the guy who habitually manipulates and blackmails cities to line his pockets?”
You need to be a little more specific. That statement applies to just about EVERY professional sports team owner.
Just like LA was ‘Rams country’ prior to the Raiders move to the City of Angels. I’m not holding my breath about a Raiders relocation to Texas but I don’t think it is that far fetched either.
Certainly the Texans won’t want to move either, nor the Saints (lot’s of Katrina-ites in the area)
I heard Sterling wants to buy the team..........
That would be funny.
From what I read, 24 “yes” votes are needed for approval. That would mean Jones needs eight other teams to vote in the negative category. Could the Rams return to Los Angeles? Maybe that would be part of regaining a bigger TV market if they lost Oakland to San Antonio or as others have said it is just a ploy.
It would be entertaining if Davis tried to resurrect the USFL nickname of the (San Antonio) Gunslingers. Imagine the PC crowd? Watch the collective heads on ESPN explode!
I guess you don’t know about the millions Al Davis got from the city of Irwindale for doing absolutely nothing.
Why do you think they were the ones that drafted Michael Sam?
I am a huge Raider Fan. If this happens that will be it for me!!! The ticket prices are really not that bad. I plan on attending a game this year with my brother who is a bigger fan than I am.
Sam I Am, Sam the Ram.

Well Benson used to openly talk about moving the Saints to SA up until Katrina and Tagliabeau ended all that (would love to have heard that conversation). It’s hard to tell how he’d break now that he pretty much will never be able to make that move. Houston might actually like it as the next time there’s a realignment they’d probably wind up in the same division and they could actually get a legit close proximity rivalry going.
Of course in the end this is all just the usual ploy to get a new stadium so nothing will happen. It’s why there will never be a team in LA, it’s just too useful as a threat, the league gets more free stadiums not having a team there.

They like long names...
Compared to the close to a billion (and sometimes more than a billion) most of the rest of the owners have gotten to build stadiums with Al was never that successful at the city blackmail game.
“...I am a huge Raider Fan...”
I’m sorry.............
