I don't watch TV much these days, so I can't say what have been popular miniseries in the past decade or so, but I remember there used to be big budget miniseries on TV all the time (A.D., The Winds of War, Roots. Etc). In your opinion, what were the greatest miniseries of all time?
Nominees: 1) Danger UXB, 2) Band of Brothers, 3) The Pacific, 4) I, Claudius, 5) Victory at Sea, 6) Horatio Hornblower, 7) John Adams, 8) The World at War.
I second that...

Even back then, I can remember my mom saying that she thought Richard Chamberlain was gay. Her ‘gaydar’ was pretty strong. LOL!
The First Churchills
The Wilderness Years (about Churchill)
It has a timeless feel to it. I watch it whenever I steal the remote from the wife and channel surf for a bit. There are certain parts that are my favorites, but the whole thing is such a compelling piece of work.
Speaking of Churchill, Albert Finney as Churchill in “The Gathering Storm” was amazing....It’s one of my favorite all-time movies.
I didn’t like Roots either. There was not one white person that was trustworthy. They would appear to befriend the slave, and then would turn on them. It did nothing for race relations except to make them worse.
Band of Brothers

Gosh - they're really inexpensive these days. We may have one in the garage that you can have.

Peter O'Toole was a genius.
If 24 is in then "Mad Men"is in too.
Oh that was so good! Thanks for reminding me of it! I’m going to look for it.
Victory at Sea,

Have fun.
I could barely tolerate Roots at the time but couldn't choke it down now, not with the Jeffersons in the W. House!
