From what I remember the Egyptians considered the Minoans the other civilized people with the rest of humanity being barbarians. So it is not a stretch to think that Minoan and Egyptian royals would have intermarried.

Yes, that's possible. The royal families don't necessarily have the same ancestry as the general population and intermarriage has long been a way to practice politics. Like others have said, it would be good if they published the findings.
