WASHINGTON (AP) Sales of new U.S. homes plunged in June, a sign that real estate continues to be a weak spot in the economy.
New home sales fell 8.1 percent last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 406,000, the Commerce Department said Thursday. The report also revised down the May sales rate to 442,000 from 504,000.

I don’t believe Obama’s departure will change the long-term problems; they existed before he was elected (the drop in white births was WHY he was elected twice), and I don’t see that changing when he leaves. The concept of sacrificing current and future income and convenience for children, and bearing the risks involved in having them, have gone the way of the dodo for many Americans; many people breeding today do so without any thought to those things (lifelong Democrats dependent on the state for all of them).
I was fortunate in coming from a large family where we never had much; twenty years ago professors told us we wouldn’t enjoy the standard of living of our parents, and they were absolutely right.
No kidding! A total miss of 15%. Who the hell pays these analysts and why can’t I get a sack job like that!
Carlyle (probably the best connected with DC private equity group) is buying trailer parks.
That tells me something about the future.
Reasonably good logic if we where importing educated Europeans or Asians. The importation of third World illiterates into a country that can’t graduate more than 50% of its’ own underclasses from High School much less college is probably a bad idea.
Definitely; I think they anticipate the white former middle class moving out of the expensive suburbs, and they sure as hell aren’t going to the projects.

Both are bad ideas; we don’t need to import educated Europeans and Asians to steal jobs from our middle class, and we don’t need Third World illiterates to steal tax dollars from them either as freebies.
However, if we do have immigration. Better educated people who an at least provide for themselves.
A federal agency is juggling numbers around to hide how bad it really is. They can’t make the emperor look bad.
Lol. Exactly so!
“However, if we do have immigration. Better educated people who an at least provide for themselves.”
Sure. Many people saw Obama’s election as a tipping point in this country; I would offer that it had happened a few years earlier, when Europeans stopped seeing immigration to this country as worthwhile. Today one can’t make the case to them that they would be better off here; at this point, they’ll still contend with high unemployment and taxes, while from my understanding their countries are just “nicer”.
