Which TV series should have gone on?
Posted on 07/19/2014 8:28:11 PM PDT by MNDude
Most TV series "jump the shark" or get bad long before they end. But there's always a few that you wish that went on at least another season. Which TV series or program(s) do you wish hadn't ended when it did but continued on at least another year?

Car 54, Where Are You?That one was hilarious and a nice program before NYC became so mean and irretrievably socialist.

The sad thing is that most of the people who were in these series are not with us any more nor has there been anyone who came after them that could even begin to take their place.

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me...
Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't coming back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me...
There's no place I can be
Since I've found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me Simply put, think a western set in space. But far more than that. About a group of people just trying their lives free from interference from an interfering government that gives corporations far too much power. Living out on the frontier, so they can do that.
One of the most conservative TV shows, I've ever seen.
Two of the characters are veterans of a war to try and resist the rule of the Alliance. Others are just people who like them, want to be free - or haven't been left with a choice.

Jack Webb ruined ''77 Sunset Strip'' when he fired all the cast but the late Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. The show was thereafter really unviewable in the 1963-64 season. But just a season earlier, it was wonderful.

Monkey Heck, I'll settle for having the "missing" 13 episodes dubbed into English and shown.
While I'm on the theme
Tales of The Gold Monkey

Also ‘’Hazel’’ could have continued had Shirley Booth not had health problems in 1966.

Canadian show, it didn’t have many episodes in a season.
In the UK a season could be as few as 6 episodes, which sounds nuts to us.

the move Serenitystank. The format of a movie was not conducive to the excellent stories they wrote for the TV show.

That series was great. Agree absolutely with all you said. It definitely should have gone on much longer since you could really understand the characters and get into the whole theme being portrayed.
